Looks dead now... can't remove monitor or RAM. Fun while it lasted!

Excellent deal.

A warning, though: Slim desktops don't take regular PCI or PCIe cards (duh), only low-profile ones. That means there's much less opportunity to take advantage of good deals on these, and many fewer choices. I think I've already lost the money I saved buying my slim Dell by having to pay extra for video and video capture cards, and anything else I wanted to add.

Great deal! Don't forget 4% DPA discount for an extra $10 off. Try to pay w/ CC then it should offer you another 4% off w/ DPA payment.

Don't most add-on cards come with low profile adapters though?

Not full size Video Cards like the GeForce 9800/GTX260/GTX280/etc or the Radeon 4850/4870/etc.

Thats probably the most common upgrade someone would put in these machines as far as the PCI/PCIe slots goes.
I am of course assuming this machine has an x16 slot in it. Might not.

You can run Vista, but you won't enjoy running Vista unless you have 2GB-3GB of memory.

Vista needs more memory for two reasons:

1) The operating system consumes more memory than XP.

2) Vista caches your most commonly used programs/files into the system memory. For example, if you regularly use PowerPoint, every time you start up your computer Vista will transfer PowerPoint program/files into any spare system memory you have. Then, when you launch PowerPoint, instead of loading it normally from the hard drive, it loads the program almost instantly from the system memory.

No Mult-display with the integrated video.

You need a Low-Profile add-in Graphics card, so your options will be limited to ATI 2400 or 3400 series cards or NV 8500 and 8600 cards (plus a few random others).
