Magicland said:This is a tough decision. I've got an Electric Toro which has worked just fine the last couple of years, but this is a steal, especially for a 4 cycle. What are the auger blades made of, metal, or some sort of hard rubbery stuff (like on my Toro electric)? I just went and checked mine....The rubbery stuff....similiar to whats on the toros and ariens Check out this Ariens snowthrower thats $699. Fairly close in motor size. Look at the body and the chute. Its mainly polymer as well. And paddles are the Hard rubberish material Also check out This Toro about $670. |

Yeah.. I had that same decision Magicland. I had the Toro Power Curve 1800 I just had to think of all the negatives and and positive... like Ross in friends. I focused on the negatives of the Toro -Weaker -Frozen power cable -Long and tangled power cable -Coiling and uncoiling power cable -Snow is cold -Takes too long especially in cold. If I had a option of the Toro Power Curve and this unit right now at the same price... i take the craftsman. Had the wife bessed it and will see the toro on eBay but i will wait till winter to do that.. not fall. atm the selling price is 100-122. hopeully the winter will be 150-175. I think your decision should be easier now.. since a trade up will only cost you $70-130 |

crazypalooza said:whats our feelings on the extendend warranty? I bought the snow blower but couldn't bring myself to pay so much for the extended warranty so I charged it on the AMEX for the extra free year of warranty that they give. anyone else have any thoughts on the matter? My OPINION...for what you are paying for the snowblower and for what it costs for the warranty...Id pass on it. Like you said you got the extra year with AMEX |

In for one - thanks OP! In northern OH - snowblowers rarely go on a significant sale/clearance here, so this is great for the upcoming season. |

I think your decision should be easier now.. since a trade up will only cost you $70-130 I've got the powercurve 1800 too, I think I paid a little over $100 for it at Home Depot a few years back (60% off clearance, then used a 20% off coupon on top of that). Snowed 18" the next day If I get the FatCash 2% (had the snowblower in my cart, and logged on through FW, selected cart from there and checked out, so hopefully it'll work), this one will be $224.81, out the door, after tax and FC. Even if I can recoup $100 on the powercurve (it's in excellent shape, so I should be able to), this one is a steal and a half. If I can get more for the powercurve, I'm playing with house money... Obviously, I decided to get it |

For you Clevelanders still wanting to get one, there's still at least one left at the Middleburg Heights store. |

After talking to my parents they're not so sure about getting one. Reason? They live in the snow belt in Ohio and have a 200 ft driveway. Normally they'll get 4-6 inches of snow but sometimes it'll get bad and they'll see a foot on the ground. They're both near 60 and seeing how this is not self propelled I'm not sure how well that will work. Does anyone know? Also, dumb question, but how far would this throw the snow? They're worried about it drifting back. Thanks. |

Thanks. The paddles help pull this along in the snow. As far as throwing, I am guessing here, but Id say 30 ft. The toros and ariens say 30-35 ft. |

For the true fatwalleter See my cart now Basically they have a buy one get one free on Lawn and garden Stick tools (make sure they have store pickup on these too) ALso, if you spend 22 bucks more than the original deal, the 15 off 150 coupon goes to 25 off 250. See the photo above it shows it so you can get 4 Craftsman 30 in. Poly Leaf Rakes w/Fiberglass Handle and the snowblower for 229.97 |

I am willing to take a chance that there will be no significant snow at all in philly area...Last winter the biggest one was less than 2inch and melted down by 9am... |

GREEN for you OP billybabe3883 !!! I completed my order perhaps 1 hr ago for ISP at the Madison Hts, MI store. 3-5 days available for ISP. I got the $214.39 price B4 tax just like OP said plus $12.86 sales tax & then I applied a $15 Sears GC I had. I tried to apply the 2% Cash Back and it may have applied OK -- we'll see. So there may be an extra $4.xx or so addtional bonus. OP --- this deal means a lot --- I've been shoveling snow for the past several years because i could not get either of my two older 2 cycle snowblowers started. This one I believe should be easier to start being a 4 cycle no fuel mix type engine. I'm really looking forward to picking this up, checking it out & using it this winter. Thanks big time !! |
