Nice refurb'd GPS with a big honkin' touchscreen. At $99 you can't beat it.

I am one of those people that think that factory refurbs are actually better than new products many times, because not only has the product gone through the regular QC at the factory, but it has been sent back for a defect, that defect corrected, and then put through a much more rigorous and individualized QC before it can be marketed again.

Here is the linky.

It's at TigerDirect for those who have used them before. They are respectable, IMHO.

UPDATE: Added refurb to title

Please add refurbished in the title. This seems like a good deal though. Thanks.

Put REFURBISHED on your title. Misleading.

One of the bad things about Magellan units is that you usually always get outdated maps.
Especially when it's a refurbished unit. And, they don't offer regular updates.

The last refurbished Magellan GPS that I purchased in early 2008 had maps from 2006.
When I called to complain, they refused to help.

Thats crap... Magellan has new 2008/2009 maps on their website today and has for a while. I have one of these units and they are GREAT. While sometimes the voice is annoying with its pronunciation of certain street names I didn't buy it to listen to it.

Software upgrade are available via download.
Map updates are available via download.

Beware of purchasing stuff from TigerDirect, I purchased 2 TomTom One Xl and within 2 week they dropped the price another $20 per unit. When I called for a price adjustment they refused to give me one, their reason is the item number is different.

What Tiger direct does is they change the item number so that they can call it a different item even though the product is exactly the same. This way they don't have to refund/adjust your money. I never had a problem with Amazon on price adjustment. The two item linked below

TomTom $169

TomTom One $149

Obviously you've never had one of the RROD Xbox 360 refurbs

I have one of these and the power connector has gotten loose, making it unusable. Have to find the time to send the thing back for warranty repair...

Piece of junk, IMHO.

Actually I have one, and it has been working great ever since (1.5 years in)

Mine is a POS too, I would stay away from it. Freezes up quite a bit, gives poor directions, has sent me past the right exit numerous times.

Stay away.

love hate -- Love the AAA guide in the Magellan 4250 (not sure it's in this model)------ hate the power button (of all things) which doesn't always work and now is a complete malfunction. Returned to Costco after 6 months. Refurb was an alternative, but you have to ship it to Fort Worth and wait a couple weeks.
