Never a word from Bestbuy after credit card dispute. They have 30 days to respond since American Express sent out letter. But our 30 days return is up. What should we do now? |

Technically is is 30 days from the date of delivery or pickup, not order date |

I disputed and I received a letter acknowledging dispute, but haven't heard for the past week or so. |

I am too scare that I tried to return it on sunday (last day of their 30 days refund policy) even I disputed it with AMEX. The problem is they didn't want to refund me $1200. They said the receipt only charged $550. They would refund me $900 max (same price in system). |

The gift that keeps on giving... $977.98 - $48.00 Discover CashBack bonus - $20 BestBuy Rewards certificate = $909.98. The Pats looked great in HD last Sunday. |

OUCH ! Sorry to hear. I would try to get the deal reinstated. Then try selling the HTIB on craigslist or keep it. That's what I did... Kids enjoy the plasma/sound in the playroom... |

It's not between you and AMEX, it's between you and Bestbuy. AMEX just foward the words. To FrugalDutchman, how did you ask them to reinstate the deal 60 days after? |

Whoo Hoo!! I just got an email from Best Buy that says: Amount credited as of 12/12/2008: $483.00 The amount shows up on my order history too. I dispute the charge through my AMEX over 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Today I got this email. I guess the battle is won! |

Alright, for those of you who are still fighting this, we (my friends and family) had three orders put in for this deal and each turned out differently. Case #1: TV for delivery Speaker for pickup On credit card, TV and speaker were separate charges since I was charged for TV right after delivery and speakers were yet to be picked up. Didn't pick up speaker, it got cancelled; never charged. Was charged an additional $483 after failing to pick up speakers. (Reason = unauthorized charge) Disputed this charge and won. Case #2: TV for pickup at store #1 Speaker for pickup at store #2 On credit card, TV was charged $600ish after pick up. Speakers didn't get picked up at store #2, was never charged for it. No additional charge increase as a result of not picking up speakers. No dispute needed. Case #3: TV for pickup and store #1 Speaker for pickup at store #2 Was going to try for the return HTIB and avoid the "automatic" increase but later changed mind. It's a pretty nice system. I don't know why there are so many variations to the mixed results people got except that there had to be intervention by Bestbuy people on the orders. |
