Driver Magician offers a professional solution for device drivers backup, restoration and update in Windows operating system. It identifies all the hardware in the system, extracts their associated drivers from the hard disk and backs them up to a location of your choice. Then when you format and reinstall/upgrade your operating system, you can restore all the “saved” drivers just as if you had the original driver diskettes in your hands. After one system reboot, your PC will be loaded and running with the required hardware drivers.
Driver Magician has a built in database of the latest drivers with the ability to go to the Internet to receive the driver updates. It saves lots of time to find the correct drivers and mature drivers will obviously increase the performance of hardware. If there are unknown devices in your PC, Driver Magician helps you to detect them easily and quickly with its built in hardware identifier database.

I have used this program and it works. However,if your system ever crashes and you need to reinstall everything you end up having to pay for the program.
Here is the problem. Your hard drive crashes and you want to reinstall all of your programs. You reinstall Windows and now Driver Magician is no longer "installed". You go to load your saved drivers and Driver Magician tells you that you have an "unregistered copy" and it will run in limited mode. Automatic installation of all drivers does not work. You have to manually install each of the drivers. It still works but it is a pain. And of of course no you need to buy it if you want to continue using it to back up your drivers. So it is not really free. You just pay later.
Here is a better solution. Freeware Driver backup. It works and it is free. Double Driver Freeware

Driver Magician says "Clone all drivers to an auto-setup package (.EXE), so you can restore drivers without installing Driver Magician."
. Always wanted to backup my drivers - but just never got a round toit. This program will help those who, like me, are always gonna do it tomorrow. Thanks OP. .
I have used a legit freeware called double driver I don't know if it has all the features of driver magician, but if you simply want to make back ups of all your drivers it will take care of that need
It does compile to the drivers to a self extracting .exe file. However, when I tried to extract and reload all of the drivers using this file, it said that it could only extract the graphics and network drivers automatically because it was running in a limited mode. The full automatic uninstall only works if you first reinstall Driver Magic. This requires you to buy it.
