I'm crying right now because I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on this (it doesn't have good computer in capabilities), so instead I'm posting here to make myself feel better.

Okay so I found this browsing Amazon.com...

Electronics Expo is the seller offering the $669 price and free shipping (and currently it is auto selected)

Here is the Link to the TV

This is my first post here, so sorry if I didn't do it correctly, but I hope I covered all the bases. Keep me posted, I'll live vicariously through those who get this TV... *sigh*

Edit: If you are wondering about the 720p vs 1080p argument, Cnet Cnet.com Reviewstated in it's review that this tv has an amazing image quality and adding 1080p to the tv would have been unnecessary or a "waste"... They also state that this tv is getting right up there with the Pioneer Kuro TVs in terms of quality and black levels... not quite the same, but getting there, but for over $2000 dollars less in cost, I'll take the panasonic

It's coming up as $794 now (ti showed up at $669 a minute ago)...seller fix the price?

alert mods

Thanks OP. ordered successfully at original price!
Hope it actually ships

ETA:
Should I try to find more about the seller Electronic Expo? or Does Amazon guarantee the product as described?

ETA2:
The TV has actually shipped! Should be seeing plasma/hdtv goodness in a couple of days.

hmm, I think you might be right... wow, they fixed that fast. I still had one in my cart, and I could order three at the 669 price, but when I deleted them out of my cart... the price shot up to $794... that's a pity. I hope someone got one... how do we say this deal is dead?

akel, I think that in order for companies to use Amazon check out, everything is supposed to be advertised correctly. I quickly checked them out, and they looked legit. From the speed of that fix, I think they had the wrong price posted. Arg! I didn't even have time to double guess my choice of not buying!

Costco still has 42" 1080P Westinghouse TV's. 4HDMI - 2 Componenet - SVideo - VGA for $699. I bought one Friday. Much better deal IMO.

It still shows $669 in my cart. Can someone tell me should I pull the trigger or not?

Yes! This is a very nice TV at a great price.

IMO Westinghouse is a 2nd tier (2nd class) Manufacturer.
The unit you bought is REFURBISHED.
30% of the people who submitted reviews at Amazon hated the Westinghouse.

and you think the Westy is a much better deal? No way Jose.
The Panny 42x80u is a much finer Flat panel.

Too bad they raised the price.

the 1080P would be better for a computer. Unless all you were using it for was video. Many video cards have HDMI so no computer (DVI DSUB) input needed.

I use the "Flag as Dead Deal" link. Top right of each post.

No way. Panasonic Plasma vs Westinghouse LCD? It's not even close. Panasonic makes some of the nicest plasmas you can buy. Some would argue the best.

You have to compare units, watching both running the same content. I've seen MANY 720p HDTVs that looked far better then 1080p HDTVs. It's really image quality, the blacks, colors. The good brand names look a lot better when you can compare them side by side.

Sure you can get larger sets, higher resolution, but the image/video quality won't be as good. And the reviews back this up. If you're going to drop that much money, always go with the best brands in the business. And of course read the reviews. And the reviews for this Panny Plasma are VERY good. If you don't own a HDTV, this one is really nice. Unless you have a ps3 and plan to buy blu rays, get this 720p Panny. Almost every channel (all sports) are 720p, and once you get over 10' you can't even tell the different from 1080p. And on cheap 1080p's, this 720p Panny will look better at any distance.

I sure hope someone got one because this was definitely hot. Key word WAS.

Paawk said it all. If you want something that's going to last and be worth the money I would never EVER buy a westinghouse... unless it was under two hundred bucks... maybe. But the thing is even if it's a good deal, you'd always regret buying a cheap big screen because every movie you watch on it would be sub par for what it could have been with a panasonic plasma... A side note: I think I'm just going to save up and by the Panasonic Viera PZ85U 1080p... I bet without special analysis equipment the difference between it and a Kuro Pioneer would be negligible for an average joe.

The quality of Westinghouse is nowhere near the quality of Panasonic. Please do some research before posting next time. I would hate for you to lead someone into buying a Westinghouse, as you said it was a better deal than the Panny.

Pioneer & Panasonic > Westinghouse, Vizio, or {insert another low end manufacture here}
