I live in Baltimore city and signed up. It only took about 5 mins to complete the survey. They asked for contact info (name, address, phone, email), if you were a vehicle owner, had insurance, and make/model/year of car.

Sorry, I'm new at this stuff.

Looks like you have to drive a newer car too, if your car is older than a 2000 you have to manually input the year.

You can't please everyone. Ignore the habitual fault-finders.
You did a GREAT job!
Plug away!

Schedule an appointment to have the on-board computer installed in your vehicle.

I'd need more info on this.

Info in the On Board computer makes it sound like it's something like a GPS that's plugged into your OBD2 port, or something. My 1995 Escort probably wouldn't interest them.

Sounds to me like the whole purpose of the study is to see how feasable it is to require a GPS in all new vehicles for the purposes of them taxing you by the mile. Which if implemented, I'd disable.

Exclusion criteria per study coordinator:

- American made cars only (BMW was specifically mentioned as being excluded, for example)
- Vehicle has to be made after 2000 (not sure if that includes 2000)
- 1 study participant per household

Here's some clarification--the study is open to all types and makes of cars--not just American models. Yes, you are correct, the car registration and the study particpant must be the same.

alert mods

maybe they should keep the $895 they are going to give out to everyone and use that to fund the roads?????

That may very well be what's on the website, but I spoke to the study coordinator via landline with the question of "What other exclusion criteria are there" and what I mentioned above was the response. Please correct me, so I can participate in the study! Here's the number: 866-363-1975
