CompUSA has the refurbished Logitech Harmony 1000 Advanced Universal Remote Control for a $229.99 + $8.99 shp. Pay with paypal to get $20 back. This remote usually retails for $400-500.

In case the link does not work, search for Item Number L23-7320.

3.5" touchscreen LCD, RF connectivity for NON line-of-sight control, Easy web-based setup (y'all know that don't you)

For threadcrappers: yes, this remote is more expensive than every other one in Harmony line, but not everybody drives Honda Accord. And 45% off for a top of the line Harmony remote is not such a bad deal...

If you don't drive a Honda; you shouldn't be in this forum !

Amazon has this for $334, so this deal's roughly $100 cheaper for refurb. not a bad deal if you're alright with a refurb.

oh, and I drive a chevy prizm, formerly the geo prizm, the stepbrother of the famous geo metro (which was my previous car). so I guess that explains why I'm getting a Logitech Harmony 890 instead of this flagship 1000.

I prefer the 880/890 myself, I like the size since it fits in one hand.

I really like my 550. I prefer a one-handed remote.

Yes it's a cool tool, but seriously $200+ for a uni remote? I can see doing it MAYBE if your main remote dies on you as a replacement. Most major remotes are somewhat programmable as it is, reducing the most remotes I have in any one room down to two, and only then because of extra controls for my TiVo. One extra remote isn't much of a hardship. Seriously, these just seem like expensive and needless toys to me. If you do have money to waste, good for you, have fun with it.

As for the 'hot deal', it's a refurbish electronics item with only a 3 month warranty. I sure wouldn't be comfortable buying a $200+ item that they will only guaranty for 90 days. You can buy an extended warranty for it, but you have to shell out another $40 for it.

This remote is not a 'regular' remote. It works with RF signal. Someone who has their components hidden away or in another room, will need an RF remote.

I have a home theater in my basement with a projector and all the components are in the back of the room, I want one of these so I don't have to keep pointing the remote behind me, and directly at my rack.

Actually the recent firmware removes the part of the RF functionality on the 1000. So long as you don't need the z-wave then the stripped down RF wont affect you. It still only works with the Logitech RF extender it will not control proprietary devices like the bose unless they have the infrared option.

It just nice to know that some functionality has been removed prior to your purchase.
