I got a 4GB Kingston class 6 SDHC for $13.82 shipped Link from kingston's website for my new D40.
i'll try to get one of this since price is smoking hot and crucial is a great brand.

Amazon has a 8GB SDHC with card reader for $14.99. might be worth it with other stuff to get it to $25.00 for free shipping (and no tax for CA).

Crucial is part of Micron Technologies. They are one of the largest manufacturer of DRAM and flash memories. The NAND memory market is taking a beating and prices are in a free fall. As a manufacturer, they are best suited to drop prices to move large amount of excess inventory. Micron recently anouncd a net loss of $1.8B. Any way to raise some cash is a good thing.
