This is a Newegg Shell Shocker, so sale starts 8AM PDT on Friday and will end at 6PM PDT or until the inventory lasts (which probably won't!). Limit is 2. This is a Class 6, so it's the fastest in its class!

Don't forget 3% Microsoft CashBack!

This is the lowest I've ever seen on a 8GB SDHC card! Even though I don't need one, it's hard to resist!

I thought Class 6 was middle-of-the-road for speed.

The SD Speed Class Ratings specify the following minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied":

  • Class 2: 2 MB/s
  • Class 4: 4 MB/s
  • Class 6: 6 MB/s

absolutely smoking... I'll definitely be picking up two (max is 2 per account).

random question, how do you find out the shell shocker before it is posted ? Is it out in an email ? or is there a hidden link to always see the next shell shocker?

You can always use the following link by playing with dates. Just use next day.

Can I assume that SDHC cards are compatible with all older SD devices? (I have a Canon SD630 here that could use a spare memory card)

Edit: Looks like most older devices can't read SDHC, including my camera :/

No, it is not backwards compatible. Cameras made before 2004 are NOT compatible with SDHC.

Curious why a 8GB SDHC class 6 card was so cheap (without a rebate even!) I Googled this model CT8GBSDHC and saw the price has dropped a lot recently. Regular price at Mwave and Newegg is only $20 now. Couldn't find many reviews on this card but the few that I did see on Newegg's and others' sites have been positive. Any FWer's with experience with this card, please let us know! For example, how does it compare to the Sandisk Extreme III line? I think they now have cards that read/write at 30MBps, but of course they're nowhere this cheap.

will this work in a Sony dsc-T70? I tried looking at the crucial site, but couldn't figure it out... I'm new to camera stuff.

Excellent! I've been looking for a SDHC card for my Nikon D-80...do you think this will work?

Thanks!

From website: 31MB of memory has been built into the camera. This is enough for around 13 shots. The camera is also compatible with the following memory sticks: Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo. Memory Stick PRO Duo High Speed, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo.
