For some reason, Canon limited the fps to 20 when recording 640x480 movies with this camera. It's a little weird because its predecessor (the A570 which can be found on clearance at Sears ~$50-$100) was able to record 640x480 movies at 30fps. If the video recording feature doesn't matter to you, and I'd imagine it probably won't to most people, this is a pretty good price for the camera. On Amazon, this camera and a 2GB memory card would cost around 135 shipped. |

I know this is semi off-topic but are there any great review sites for digital cameras someone could point me to? I am leaning towards either the 1100IS or the A590IS because I've had good luck with a Canon IS2 but I'd really like to see comparisons or reviews of lots of other good cameras to really decide what fits my needs the best. I'm looking for a very portable camera and also eventually a replacement for my IS2, either a high-end P&S with a big zoom lense or a cheaper SLR, depending which will work better for me for the price. |
