Thanks OP N41. I haven't had great success with rebates from Frys in the past.
I guess we will see?

GREEN OP!

The Evil Microsoft Empire tried to crush Corel through vendor deals pushing Word/Office.

Now, with openoffice, Microsoft will get some karma.

Die, Microsoft, die...

I purchased the 2007 version from Fry's a few months ago when it was FAR. Had no trouble with the rebates. I think they may have both been Corel, and I've never had problems with Corel rebates. Thanks, OP.

You do realize that Frys does not have their own rebates, it's the manufacturers. So if you've had bad luck with stuff bought there, it is because the manufacturer did not pay, not Frys.

The good news here is that Corel appears to have switched to Parago from GFS, so these should be very reliable.

Thanks OP for posting this, BTW there is a bunch of other stuff FAR with free shipping.

Can anyone share a photocopy of MS word/Office standard/Home&Student with me? I like to get this software but do not have any of those. Thanks.

Edit: Please PM me

I only have MS works OEM version CD, is it qualify? I think it is not.

PM me a photocopy of CD if anyone has MS works, Office standard or Home & Student Retail Box version? Thanks.

True, but check the specs. http://www.corel.com/content/pdf/wpx4/edition-comparison-chart.pdf

In version X3, the Home version didn't include Presentations. However, they changed this in X4. Now it is included. So, other than not being able to edit PDFs and no database or email client, you're basically getting the full version. If you need email, use Thunderbird...!

I'm still using an OEM version of WP Office 10. I use Word, but I have gone to WP and Presentations many times when MS Office wouldn't cut it for me. I use OpenOffice, but it's still a bit quirky ( I haven't tried v3 yet, however).

As a former WP employee, it'll be nice to see what their newest offering has to offer....and for FAR! I don't know how they stay in business, but that's no longer my concern....

Thanks OP for an awesome post! I'm in for one.

OpenOffice.org

no rebate required, and yes there is a Windows version of OpenOffice as well.

IMO openoffice sucks. I hate it. It's ugly, slow as hell, and hardly compatible.

They always have the standard version for FAR.
Has anyone seen the two more advanced versions on the cheap?
Thanks
