The rebate for this item lists the model number as: 256-P2-N429-LR

The specs on this card at frys.com vary significantly from the specs on this card at newegg.com:
Core clock: 450MHz
Memory Clock: 533MHz
Cooler: Fanless

The specs at Newegg seem to match the product info at evga.com at least on the product's page (different specs on spec sheet pdf).

Is this normal?

Also, frys.com has a different rebate for this model number for only $20.

The spec sheet listed above (a few posts down) suggest you are right.

I have this card and it has a problem when I play video. The color looks all washed out.
To fix the video, I have to pause it and then start the display optimization wizard from the Nvidia control panel.
I don't actually have to run it, just start it and cancel it.
When I go back to the video, the color is perfect. Anyone know how to fix this permanently?

Great find, My son has been wanting to play guitar hero on our computer and the graphics are very jumpy. I'm sure this will take care of it.

Good deal BUT:
No free ship as you noted AND it sells for about $26 shipped on eBay. So $56 up front, 8 weeks (EVGA is fast) on the rebate and only worth about $20 plus shipping. I'm not in, but I could see how a person would be.

Green for OP. In for one for Wifey. She's complaining that her PC is slo-o-o-o-w. Getting her switched from on-board video
HAS to help. Plus - can't beat the price of six dollars and eighty cents (shipping plus one USPS stamp).

From experience, you'll usually get a two fold increase in speed by switching from onboard to a separate card:

1. Assuming the card is faster than onboard, the obvious speed increase you'll get from that.
2. From my experience, your ram (motherboard) ram will actually run faster once the onboard video is no longer using it? I've had 3 systems in which the ram run up to 50% faster once the onboard video was switched off infavor of a video card with it's own dedicated memory (not to mention the extra mainboard memory that is now free for applications, etc).

$4.42 for tax and postage = hot. To the poster who whined about the 8 week turnaround time, these days you're lucky if you are earning 1% APR interest on that money, so you might be missing out on 4 measly cents worth of interest by doing this MIR.

Thanks OP! In for one with Norton 2009. Sucks I have to pay tax in Indiana...
