[sic] You need to read more carefully, this is not the 1080p upconverting DVD player that sells for $60 at Wal-Mart, it's a DVD recorder, which usually go for over $100. Incidentally, this has DIVX playback, which is nice and not too common of a feature. No digital tuner, though. I've got a Philips 1080i upconverting DVD player I picked up at Wal-Mart for something like $30 and it has a surprisingly good picture quality. It's very light, cheaply made, has a very poor remote (range only like 10-12') and Philips' reputation for quality is mediocre and their service is worse, but for what I paid, it was a good deal. |
