I've been calling Wally World but they don't have a clue what I'm talking about,

It starts Sat 8 am.
Unless the employee sees the website they would not know about it.

????????

Guess you completely miss the satirical nature of the post, I guess I could just say "Jerk, your comparing an under power desktop replacement, Luggable computer, with a truely portable Netbook"

Most people I suspect would understand since as yet there are NO 15.4" screen, 2 lb computers(known to me, though I'm sure someone is working on one)

Figure I had eliminated any chance of the post being taken seriously when I said "Perhaps it's green and you think it's a better color?"

Splash some water in your face and read it again...

Jeeze

Regarding the PS3 offer and $100 gift card, what do you guys think about if you buy the PS3 today and do a return and buy-back on that Saturday? I bought one tonight in the hopes that it will work. This will spare me the effort of getting up early and battling the lines. I have a feeling it will work and Wal-Mart knows it because one of the stores in my area is keeping all of their stock in back until Saturday. Luckily, the other Wal-Mart in town still had one out on the floor and I snatched it up. Worse case scenario, I figure I can just straight return it and move on.

RE: WM

New manager 4 weeks ago....
New problem, no shopping carts... in the store.
This is in each of 5 visits I have made during the day since he took over.
Parking lot is loaded with them.
No one to go get them.

Yesterday, same.
A guy is sweeping the entrance area with a broom and dust pan.
I tell him, no carts in store
AGAIN.
He says one of the cart machines used to push them is broke, ok use the other one, he says no persons on duty who can use it.
I said OK, just go and get 5 or so at a time, as many as you can push.
His answer, thats not his job.
Unbelievable.

Believe it. Unfortunately, my experience at Wallyworld tends to be the same. My Gripes:
1. It's often hard, to impossible, to find an employee (in the aisles) for customer assistance. Moral of this lesson for cheap Fatwalleters (like myself): Don't drop dead in a WalMart store. Your body will start to decay before you are discovered, and no amount of makeup by the morgue can cover up the footprints and shopping cart tracks left on your face. (Albeit - this is only true in stores which have shopping carts available).
2. It's good that Wallyworld has some of the lowest prices, because every since the replacement of the actual price tag on products (remember those circa 1972?), it's also sometimes hard to discover the price of some products. (Half of the products have 10-feet price signs, others have none). Look for a self-serve scanner.
3. WalMart has plenty of lawyers that could be pushing shopping carts! I live in a very small town that has a Wallyworld "Super-Center" that sells everything, yet they are currently building yet another Wallyworld on the other side of town (3 miles or less)! City residents and small businesses banded together and for 4 years repeatedly sued Wallyworld to keep this 2nd store from being developed, but our stupid 8 City Commissioners voted that they could not deny Wallyworld a developement license, because that wasn't their place to decide! Gosh, you'd think that a company that was not clearly wanted in excess in a city would go elsewhere, but no, they spent several million to outspend the opponents in court fees. Now, our small downtown businesses (where you can get personal customer service), are slowly going out of business. This is occurring all over the U.S.! Monopolization is not good.
4. Be a temporary Wallyworld employee (sort of): Self Service cashiering lanes means you can scan and bag your own items at Wallyworld (and save the environment too). That's also good, because when I go through a traditional checkout lane, and I buy just 5 items, Wallyworld employees always find a way to put them in 6 plastic bags!!! Since some plastic doesn't break down in the environment for decades, all those plastic Wallyworld bags in our landfills are like hidden advertisements for archaeologists in the future.

1: Self-serve checkouts are there for customer convenience if they dont wanna wait in line for cashier (irritating to use sometimes I know but thats their purpose).
2. If you have a bad experience in a store, call the district mgr (his/her phone number is on a big sign at service desk) or 1-800-WalMart
3. No shopping carts available inside? Again, complain to management, district mgr or 1800 number. Trust me, if enough people bitch it will get fixed.
4. Recycle!

When I go to walmarts website and click on the laptop icon, it takes me to a page to find the nearest store... i know where the stores are, i want the details on the laptop.... i really need to know if it has wireless internet capabilities.... any help would be appreciated... So is this a good deal, or should I wait til black friday?

If you can get the card in time for the sale.

My old laptop's battery has died and it doesn't have a burner. I was looking for the capability to burn dvds, use MS word, and browse the internet.

I just really don't know if this laptop will crumble if I try to burn dvds or not. Would the processor be up to it? How about Vista and 2 gigs of ram? I could try installing XP if that would help speed things up.

Any thoughts?

Many still think of the original celeron, not todays celeron.

For $300, people should criticize it. I'm glad I saw this thread, now I'm not too worried about not getting this computer.

Staples and/or OD have recently, just about every week had a computer with a CoreDuo with about the same specs for only a $100 more.

Oh yeah? Have you seen a Sanyo LCD? They should pay the customer dumb enough to buy one for hauling it out of the store and taking it home.

CORRECT and most all would have a $100 + rebate.
For many users the $298 herein spoken of is just perfect.

Guys, think twice about the "Minimum" up for sale in each store.

At these quantities and the nature of the non-FW public, they won't last 2 mins

alert mods

for all that are interested in the 46" Sanyo 1080p this is what I did today.

I just came from WalMart few minutes ago with this Sanyo TV. I purchased it for $1098.00 + tax and tomorrow morning at 8 I'll be in store with my receipt to adjust the price a get the refund for the difference.

When I called WalMart yesterday they said that they have the tv in stock but will not sell it until Saturday. Well, today I wanted to go in and check how many they have and get the feel on how hard will it be to snag one tomorrow.
While I was there I talked to this nice young lady in electronics and asked her if they have the tv in stock and since she was so nice I figured I told her I would want to buy it and see what happens (the price listed was $1098)

She went and checked and came back and said they do not have any in the back but she will check one more spot where she knows they put the tvs sometimes . Low and behold she came back and said they have about six in stock and she's trying to get someone to help her take it down since they are stacked up very high somewhere in front of the store by bathroom supplies (go figure...I guess the managers put the there so noone can sell them before tomorrow)
Well I waited and waited while she was trying to get some help (of course when you try to do that at WalMart takes 10 times longer than at any other store)
I waited patiently.
She came back dissapointed that she cannot find anyone else to help her take it down....but she said she will page the Assistant Manager and he will take care of me. At that point I figured my chances of buying one just went from slim to none thinking the Manager will come and talk to me and explain that this particular tv cannot be sold until tomorrow.
I was wrong. He came and asked which tv I wanted and went and got it. Payed for it and stuck in my wife's Honda Accord's trunk half way sticking out strapped with a bunjee cord (beaware this is a big box...bigger that i thought).

I'm sure I will not have a problem adjusting the price with the receipt tomorrow morning.
So this way I avoid the fight to grab one tomorrow when I'm sure WalMart will by a madness.

Good luck to all that want to get one. I seriously think this is a great deal. (and trust me I know a good deal - got my current 37" LCD 720p Olevia for $450 last year)
Not to mention you can return the tv even after you have opened the box and used it for 90 days with no restocking fee (in case you find a better deal in the next 3 months). And this is confirmed by what their return policy says in store and by 2 employees I asked this morning including the Assistant Manager that got the tv for me.

This will replace my 37" 720p Olevia .

Total paid after I adjust the charges tomorrow:
$798 + 79 tax - 5% rewards (on Citi CashReturns) = $833.15 out the door for 46" 1080p. Not bad at all. I doubt it you will find much better on BF or Christmas.

Now off I go to hook it up.
