cerodinero said:I got one of their refurbs through woot about a year or so ago. Great player, nice features, good video playback. Its expandable with the MicroSD slot, so you can easily put in a 4gb micro SDHC card in it for an extra $10 and have a 6b player for less than $40. Also, if you install rockbox (free download at rockbox.org), you can play small games on it is well. This is a great time killer when I'm waiting in airports. Two things to keep in mind rockbox only supports v1 versions of the Sansa so if this is a v2 you are SOL for the moment if you want to run rockbox. Also v1 Sansas don't support SDHC cards so you are limited to 1GB cards. Rockbox fixes this and v2 firmware does too I am told but I don't own a v2 version of this player so cannot confirm that. I have two of these (v1) with rockbox and love them. Very solid and reliable. |

I like my 8gig version so much, especially with Rockbox, that I just bought this one as a gift for my brother-in-law. |

My experience is not so good. i have purchased it from Woot and while player works most of the time, it sometimes lost my video in the memory. memory still is full and no content displayed. I have to reformat player and reinput all the contents. Other issue is the clock never right, the tuning ring also wear off their sensitivity, ie when I try to turn up the volume, it turns down instead....., maybe I am the unlucky one and got a lame unit. Danzilla said:Fwallet said:I dont think this is a great Deal. i did purchase this from Woot.com an year ago for $19.99 + $5.00 Shippingwoot.com sale are often very limited (one day at most?) and the refurb only came with 3 month warranty unless you pay extra. This one costs the same shipped and comes with Newegg's 1 year replacement warranty in addition to the manf standard 3 month.
PS. I just searched past woots and found the e250 last Nov, but it was $29.99 + $5 shipping, not $25 you mentioned...?
PPS. Think 2GB just too small, but if it works for you, great.
EDIT: I had heard previously these had 3 month warranty from the manf., but can't find any mention of it, so unless you can find it, assume it's only 30 day refund, 1 year replacement from Newegg. |

You're right. It's showing out of stock again. I'd suggest doing the auto notify since they came back into stock once already. |

got the mp3 player. it looks very clean and only have a couple very minor scratches along the edge but barely noticeable. The screen does not have bad pixels and mp3 player comes with the usb cable and earbud. It looks and feels solid because of its metallic body. definitely a good buy. |

CNET review says can't put video n photos on expansion slot; just in memory. external cards for music only. If that is still true (after firmware updates), the 2GB may not be enough if one has more than music in mind. There was also the issue of the inability to bookmark longer (or any) files, and that the FF is painfully slow. Any comments? |

good for those car rides when nothing else helps the screaming little ones. lessor of two evils (screaming in ear at 70mph or educatiomal videos) |
