recertifiedegg

As stated, this is NOT new, it's recertified. Still, a great little music/video player that kids will love for Christmas.

Video is playable only from internal 2GB memory, not from memory installed Micro SD expansion slot. CNET review here.

"On occasion accessory items may or may not be included, and/or substituted. Accessories are shown in the pictures so that customers will know what may be missing."

From the pictures, it looks like it is missing the proprietary USB adapter. If true, this would be a serious omission.

Does anyone know if the adapter is included?

I think the pic is just the item, not accessories, but if the cable is indeed missing, you can get one for $2.31 HERE.

I grabbed two, was looking for something like this for our angel tree at church. Thanks OP.

Good one OP! In for 4.

I want one! But, when I go to through the checkout process, it adds on an "Electronic Waste Recycling Fee" of $10. What's the deal with that?

Got one for my self. First time I got "Electronic Waste Recycling Fee" of $10 at check out (for CA) but I started again and it worked fine the second time. Got one for $26.81 after tax in CA.

I got one of their refurbs through woot about a year or so ago. Great player, nice features, good video playback. Its expandable with the MicroSD slot, so you can easily put in a 4gb micro SDHC card in it for an extra $10 and have a 6b player for less than $40. Also, if you install rockbox (free download at rockbox.org), you can play small games on it is well. This is a great time killer when I'm waiting in airports.

We bought three of these refurb'ed and they all came with the cable, earbuds and the driver CD.

Nice price with Newegg standard return policy (replace failures within a year), and don't forget CashBack...
Still only $5 off it's common $29.99 low for the 2GB refurb while the 8GB model has been seen for $50 shipped.
Great if you're willing to expand with uSD card instead of wanting more built-in.

This one costs the same shipped and comes with Newegg's 1 year replacement warranty in addition to the manf standard 3 month.

PS. I just searched past woots and found the e250 last Nov, but it was $29.99 + $5 shipping, not $25 you mentioned...?

PPS. Think 2GB just too small, but if it works for you, great.

EDIT: I had heard previously these had 3 month warranty from the manf., but can't find any mention of it, so unless you can find it, assume it's only 30 day refund, 1 year replacement from Newegg.

I actually have this exact model and its been about 1 yr+ and no problems. They are great, mainly because of the expandable memory, but they also have decent sized screens, fm tuner, voice recording (great for lectures, but not the greatest quality) and an equalizer.
I also have an Ipod shuffle, nano, and classic 80gb (I have a gadget habit). I like the iPods slightly better as far as over all music (A++)/video (A) players go and all the accessories they make for them, but the iTunes only thing, voice record cost me $39.99 (although far superior to the sansa), no fm tuner ( I think you can buy one), and no expandable memory, make me question my love for them.
I also like girls that are hot, bitchy, cost me alot of money, and far above my white trash class level, but at least the worst I treat the girls, the more they adore me and the less I actually have to spend on them. As for the iPods the worst I treat them, the more they cost me (having to buy a new one).
The bottom line, if you are looking for a player that has (A-) music quality, with (A+) features, and dont need an "iPod", this is the media player for you. They are durable, inexpensive, and feature packed. Great gifts at $25. Its just impossible to fine accessories to upgrade and make it look snazzier.
But at $25, no one will be unhappy at christmas time, not you (only $25), not the receiver (cool media player that is easy to use and expandable), not the family (you bought an item they would have had to buy at some time and it would have cost them more). This all equals to you being a HERO!!!

I have the refurb 8GB version of this I purchased from BUY with the google checkout discount a few years back... still working flawlessly. If these have the raised letter "REFURB" on the back, it can be removed by simply pushing the letters sideways until they un-stick. Then just clean the back with rubbing alcohol to remove the rest of the sticky residue. They look cast, but are actually stick-on letters. The other nice benefit of this player is that it is seen as just another drive. No "special" software required to add/remove music. Also, it can read the tags (including album art) in MP3s and allow you to sort or play based on them. I use 256+ VBRs and have no issues.

Thanks op, I'll be getting my daughter one...

EDIT: oh yea, the battery life on these is darn near amazing. I keep a 110v or 12v to USB adapter around to use with the Sansa cable for charging... works fine.
