How can they possibly know whether you bought gift cards or not? I just bought a large Sam's gift card online to fulfill a new AMEX gold card offer and everything I see shows it as merchandise and qualifies the deal. If you buy $100 worth of groceries and $40 worth of gift cards, your receipt total still shows $140 to WalMart and that's what will show up on your CC bill. |

Actually if you read the offer terms you give Wal-Mart the right to disclose your purchases to AMEX (I assume for marketing purposes?) Plus I assume it is no different than how AMEX will know you purchased a GC to fulfill your AMEX Gold card offer which BTW according to the terms of that AMEX GC offer is not eligible as credit toward the min purchase fulfillment requiremnt. |

super deal, not I don't appreciate, but I don't understand why WalMart needs to do this deal. Among the retailers, it's doing the best. |

for purposes of this deal, are WalMart and Super Wal Mart considered the same store? Obviously, easy to charge $40 in groceries at Super Wal Mart twice in a month. |

thanks OP. Will do my grocery shopping over the next month there As for the article, The geniuses (sarcasm) at AMEX must be really working. For the past couple of months, I put nothing but flight tickets/business expense on AMEX and they are sending me offers to upgrade. thanks but no thanks. In this environment I don't want more folks looking into my CR. I use my stingy discover for everything else (big lots, Ross etc which I have used in the past) |

The economy is great for us FWers... I feel sorry for the poor people who pay retail and don't save any of their money...A little research goes a long way and I love fatwallet for encouraging us to be more proactive. |

wuhoo said:can multiple AMEX cards be enrolled? it says cardmember account, but each type of AMEX is its own cardmember account? that being said, it would be hard for me to find enough stuff at WalMart to buy $40x2 x3 AMEX cards over a one month period... I was able to enroll all my AMEX cards. Now the big task is trying to find stuff for $40x2 x3 transactions... |
