CheapBustard said:Tried incorrect CC# and got an error stating that the CC# was incorrect. No problem once the number was corrected. So it looks like it actually connects to AMEX system to verify the info - looks legit. Smart Idea, however I think any online payment you try to do, it will check, if your card number, shipping address, security code, year of exp are valid or not. So this website too can do those checks. Not sure from where the online shop do verify your all credit card info immediately. |

WalMart gift cards have no expiration date, so if that's included it's effectively 25% off $80 worth of stuff... not shabby. |

jenny606 said:wuhoo said:can multiple AMEX cards be enrolled? it says cardmember account, but each type of AMEX is its own cardmember account? that being said, it would be hard for me to find enough stuff at WalMart to buy $40x2 x3 AMEX cards over a one month period...
I was able to enroll all my AMEX cards. Now the big task is trying to find stuff for $40x2 x3 transactions... I just enrolled the cardholder's account and two authorized user cards from the same account. All seemed to enroll fine -- now we'll see if each card on the account can generate a $20 credit. These three cards were on a Delta AMEX card. I also enrolled an AMEX Starpoints card. As far as finding enough stuff to buy @ 25% off, no sweat. Cat food, kitty litter, food, laundry detergent... |

How the heck you conform about validity of this website ? I actually don't think you're trolling , could be wrong but might as well explain instead of just giving red. For any site, if you know that for e.g. AmericanExpress.com domain is owned & operated by AMEX, then any subdomains are also going to be from the same company. So whether the url is www217.AmericanExpress.com or we.like.interest.AmericanExpress.com, they are an authentic site - just make sure that you can recognize the *last* part in there. If the url was www217.AmericanExpress.com.crackers.ru/signup - then the last part is 'crackers.ru' which isn't part of 'AmericanExpress.com', and you shouldn't be entering any info there. |

Any thoughts? Is it worth the risk? I'd hate to lose part of my credit limit with AMEX.
original article: Delinquencies Mount for American Express
They look for a wider pattern than just if you buy some things at WalMart.
If you have good credit no need to worry. You know... AMEX really is screwing themselves up; we've got an offer on 0% intro for 15 months on all purchases as long as we pay for the minimum... we took the offer and followed the rule, but to our surprise, after three to four months of using the card, AMEX canceled the card stating due to credit risk... my wife is the primary holder and her credit is just a couple points below 700 a drop from over 800 due to the hospital accused us for not paying the full amount (which is another story I won't bore you guys). Anyhow, I just think that it was a pre-approved card and AMEX did the credit check and assumed the "risk" by approving once we accepted the offer and this hospital bill thing did not happened during these 3 to 4 months of using the card. Oh well... I am using AMEX less and less due to other act in questions on their part... As for this WalMart offer... Thanks OP, will give it a try... |

Any thoughts? Is it worth the risk? I'd hate to lose part of my credit limit with AMEX. I feel you're putting too much thought into this. This is AN AMEX promotion to shop at WalMart! If you read the article, it's constant shoppers. Two purchases hardly qualifies as such and as stated it's their promotion. |
