Easy enough! Thanks!

it this legit or possibly just giving our credit card info away??

Why do they need to security code? Are they afraid someone else going to sign me up for the promo?

The "Enroll Now" Button takes you to a secure AMEX website. Seems legit to me. I enrolled myself.

I tried looking for the WalMart offer on the American Express network site but can't find it. This might be a fishing expedition so be careful!

Same question here. Is there any link FROM the AMEX-site to this one anywhere?

with so many poor quality items on shelf difficult to find $80 worth of stuff.

TYOP

$60 for 2 $40 gift cards?

gregdep said: it this legit or possibly just giving our credit card info away??The root of the link is http://www.amexnetwork.com/, which is an American Express website.

I just called American Express because I had my doubts about the legitimacy of the website after I had submitted my credit card (foolish I know). They indicated that the card I submitted was authorized and that the merchant that authorized the card was actually American Express. So everything was fine.

I noticed that, too. Anyone know if someone else can use the root of the link to create a phishing site? All of the other links from the site look legitimate. However, none of the other offers require registration of your AMEX card. They all give you codes to use for discounts. I'd like this to be real, but still am wary....

It's legit, I called AMEX customer service cause I got a card in the mail yesterday promoting the same thing, when I tried to enroll it wouldn't let me, so I called to see if it was legit and they said it was, but apparently that site was down at the time....so for what it's worth.

If it is legit, read the fine print on the enrollment page. Says that eligible purchases must be made between 11/18/08 and 12/18/08 so don't go shopping too early!

Anyone know if this applies to the WalMart pharmacy as well?

yes it would apply to the Wal-Mart pharmacy. There are no exclusions except eligible purchases must be made between 11/18/08 and 12/18/08.

thanks OP

If this offer works for gift cards, Wal*mart gift cards can be used at Sams Club warehouse stores, where additional rebates from credit cards are hard to get.

If you sign up for this are you obligated in anything we don't see like fees or purchases?

Looks legit to me. Took me to... https://www217.AmericanExpress.com

Unfortunately, no.

Terms and Conditions said:
D. Merchant Offer Terms and Conditions
THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO EVERY MERCHANT OFFER, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFED IN THE TEXT OF THE OFFER OR AT THE POINT OF PURCHASE: SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY; OFFER CAN ONLY BE REDEEMED BY FOLLOWING THE REDEMPTION INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE OFFER (EITHER VIA EMAIL OR DIRECT MAIL) OR ON THE PROGRAM SITE; OFFER CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH OTHER PROMOTIONS OR OFFERS; OFFER NOT VALID ON GIFT CARDS, GIFT CERTIFICATES, OR PRIOR PURCHASES. OTHER RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. NO SUBSTITUTIONS OR TRANSFERS WILL BE ALLOWED.

Thanks, OP! It sounds like a good deal.

Looks like this won't work, unfortunately. Unless I'm reading it wrong. Which is too bad, since that would have been awesome!

Edit: beat to the punch!

Good Post, Green for OP.

Tried incorrect CC# and got an error stating that the CC# was incorrect. No problem once the number was corrected. So it looks like it actually connects to AMEX system to verify the info - looks legit.

Smart move.

Excellent post. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming it will be easy to have (2) $40 transactions!

can multiple AMEX cards be enrolled? it says cardmember account, but each type of AMEX is its own cardmember account? that being said, it would be hard for me to find enough stuff at WalMart to buy $40x2 x3 AMEX cards over a one month period...

Thanks OP. Looks like a great idea.

25% off on all toiletpaper Im in!

just signed it...cool

Signed up. Thanks OP.

cool! thx!

Stumbled over this article though: Don't Use Your American Express Card at Wal-Mart and Marshalls.

Any thoughts? Is it worth the risk? I'd hate to lose part of my credit limit with AMEX.

you must have received this offer letting you know that you have been pre-enrolled in the campaign (a Registered Cardmember)
//////

Does this mean you will receive the offer AFTER you register? or you need to have an offer email/letter before you register?

original article:
Delinquencies Mount for American Express

They look for a wider pattern than just if you buy some things at WalMart.

If you have good credit no need to worry.

Thanks!

does the AMEX credit card issued by citi bank works?

Costco may be more upset if AXP cut my credit which I doubt anyway. What is the point to offer the $20 credit to encourage you to go to WalMart.

Skipping 505 Messages...

Yeah we were able to get the discount for each authorized user account. I was able to do 12 of them all together, of course I have quite a few AMEX cards. A bummer I had just recently closed 4 or 5 AMEX business accounts that would have gotten me an extra 80-100 bucks. But still a NICE bonus. THANKS AMEX and Wal-Mart!!
