I actually got this from frys for that same price during the last round. It actually works well on my 15.4 and the fans blow all the air towards the left half of the surface area below. Most lappy fan vents are on the left so at least it keeps fresh air flowing through the fan intake of the laptop itself.

Pretty quiet...

I wasn't around for that debate. But I always thought these things were moronic. Indeed you are correct. Antec is well known for creating many useless products catered to the uninformed. In the link you posted I have provided enough information to open up peoples eyes to reality.
