Maybe for the same reason I gave you red: It's the difference between buying from a known source like Newegg versus once-upon-a-time from somebody on eBay. Did you get a USA warranty, or did you buy a gray market item, etc., etc.Yes, FULL USA WARRANTY - NOT GRAY MARKET. As per "About Seller" on Ebay "We are authorized dealer of leading manufacturers including HP, Kodak, Olympus, Panasonic, Canon, Lexmark, Sharp, Toshiba, Fuji, Sony, etc"
Let's face it, there are LOTS of highly rated sellers on eBay. Seller I bought from has nearly 10,000 feedback, that's just one of three companies they sell under on eBay. Another of their seller ID's has nearly 500,000 feedback. Yep, a real one-upon-a-time seller. While you may have gotten a great deal on a camera from an authorized dealer, about 95% of the dealers on eBay who say they're an authorized dealer are feeding you a line....if you have issues with an eBay purchase very often you are out of luck. That being said, Canon has a heckuva loyalty program, and you could probably recoup a lot of costs there if you have issues with your camera. |

It doesn't appear that Global Phoenix Direct is an Authorized Canon Dealer.

FYI for anyone who is trying to get this deal ... I just ordered it and didn't see the combo SD card or case. Called Customer Service up and they told me that it didn't show up as the case is out of stock. They threw in the 4GB Transcend SD card as its still in stock. I didn't care for the case anyways so its still a decent deal since I'm still getting the SD card. If anyone is in the same boat as me and cares for the SD card more than the case, go ahead and place the order. Then call customer service up to get the SD card combo'd in! |

Seller actually upgraded me to 4GB for no additional cost Hey phatkid - thanks for the red - any particular reason for dropping a "red" bomb on my post with source for getting even a hotter deal on the same camera? Because you thread crapped on this deal which is realistically obtainable for all of the Fatwallet community. Sourcing your post would have been posting a deal that was readily available to everyone. A single eBay merchant that has 4 to 5 available is very YMMV. Save the chest thumping of your deal for someone else. |

Doing a list of completed auctions for this seller shows almost 500 completed listing of the Canon SD100, WOW! Yep, this seller is really limited on their inventory - this seller seems to have more quantity available than Newegg based on people who can't get the deal now.... so how readily available was the Newegg deal? Thumping my chest? Certainly because I got a SWEET deal - $130 ($20 bucks less) for the same item plus more goodies, including extra battery, than Newegg's offering. Just looked at this seller and seems like he's sold out now on 2GB bonus and only offering 8GB plus other bonus items for $145 after CB (originally listed 15, 13 currently available - auction listed for only 1 hour). |

lol. Watching this unfold was hilarious. Looks like he'll be eating humble pie for Thanksgiving. I would never buy a digital camera by one of those eBay sellers. |
