Sale ends Dec. 7. Discount is on top of Amazon's existing sale prices on selected Blu-Ray discs (33 discs in the sale). Most of the sale discs are action-adventure movies The 6 new James Bond discs are included, so you can buy all 6 for $47 with free shipping.
Just a note that I was having problems getting the full $15 "Best Value Savings" to show up at final checkout (it should take off $5 for each pair of Bond titles). It was only taking $5 off. Someone mentioned having a similar problem with their Amazon Prime account. Sure enough, I switched to a non-Prime account and got the full $15 discount (along with the $50 promo discount for buying at least 6 titles).

Good tip, that worked for me so I could check out with my prime account.
Note that if you are going to get the 6 Bond movies you might think about picking up 4 more movies to get the extra $50 off. Two good ones on the list are "The Longest Day" and "Live Free or Die Hard" - those two are $36.98 combined regular price. Pick out any 2 filler movies (say Phone Booth and Windtalkers since they are the cheapest) for $29.98 extra or a total of $66.96 extra. Then you get to take $50 more off so the 4 movies cost you just $16.96 more! That is less than the cost of Live Free or Longest Day EACH. Give away the other two filler movies and you still come out ahead, sell them for a few bucks and come out way ahead.

Thanks OP! Picked up 10 movies for $77. Dang NY tax!
To those of you who bought movies in this deal, Amazon has adjusted pricing. If your order hasn't shipped, you might want to go back and cancel your order and re-order...alot of the $29 - $25 etc movies dropped below $20...I think one or two of the bond movies dropped in price as well to all @ $17.49 or w/e
Item(s) Subtotal: $184.90 Shipping & Handling: $11.89 Best Value Savings: -$15.00 Promotion Applied: -$3.99 Super Saver Discount: -$11.89 Blu-ray Promotion: -$100.00 ----- Total Before Tax: $65.91 Estimated Tax: $0.00 Gift Certificate/Card Amount: $15.00 ----- Grand Total: $50.91
10 movies folks...10 blu-ray movies (the $15.00 was a gift certificate) for 6.59 each....now THAT is a Black Friday deal!

You can also use the "call" or "email" link in Amazon's help page and they will adjust the prices in your order. No need to cancel. This applies to orders that have not yet shipped.
Well...I've been reading on bluray forums that many people are having problems with that...basically once the items have shipped Amazon will not change the prices. If the items haven't shipped, I think it'd be easier to just alter the order wouldn't it? That way you can get the full $100 credit (10 movies).

Thanks, you just saved me > $20. I owe you a beer.
Edit: 30 movies for 204 = 6.80 each. Looking to wind up with 18 movies at ~$1-$3 a piece once I dump the 2 extra Bond sets. GREAT deal!

Can you really see an improvement in the picture or sound with Blu-Ray in a movie that was released in the 60's or 70's? Great deal regardless, I just want to know if the older releases show an improvement.

Watch the hi-def version of 2001 A Space Odyssey and you will have your answer. AMAZING!

Yes, well, with video at least. Believe it or not, movies filmed even in the 20's used film cameras with resolutions much higher than even today's current HDTVs. If you look at an HD-DVD or upcoming blu-ray release of Casablanca you will be floored at how good "old" movies look on HD. That being said, sound was recorded at pretty poor levels back in the day, so don't expect much improvement with the exception of clarity.

Just about anything that was filmed including most TV shows will show a great deal more detail/color saturation/contrast on Blu Ray than on DVD - assuming that the film elements have been properly cared for (not always the case) and a reasonable person transfers that to the disc.
35mm film has far more information than even BR can show properly (about 2k resolution for comparison sake). Some people claim 35mm resolution on 4K or even 8K resolution is possible with a very good 35 mm film stock. Many epics were filmed on 70mm film which is far beyond anything that the best current digital media can show. The Adventures of Robin Hood is from the 30's and looks great on BR, the HD Casablanca was just spectacular and is coming out on BR soon.
Optics have improved marginally over the last century, film stocks have improved a little. Some say the old Nitrate based film stock was even superior in performance to much modern film though terribly unstable and difficult to store properly. 3 strip Technicolor processed yield just amazing results.
Sound on the other hand has progressed exponentially compared to the old stuff. Even stereo is pretty rare on many older films leading to much debate about leaving the original Mono soundtracks intact or processing the sound to some sort of fake stereo/surround.

Is it that we can order only from the list of 30 BRDs - or can we order any BRD's and yet qualify for the $100 of 10 BRD's? Pls advise
