coupon works
e-junkie has them very cheap
only possible problem might be ORIGINAL packing slip for most of the rebates (phone call should take care of that later)

When you go to the Symantec Rebate Center to Pre-Submit the non SER rebates, the the rebates say something similar to this:

Attach the following required proof of purchase for Norton AntiVirus 2009:
Email Confirmation
Original Proof of Purchase
Proof of Previous Ownership
Store Receipt

The Original Proof of Purchase is on one of the flaps on the box. There is no requirement for an Original packing slip.

Also, I mentioned this deal in the Staples Tax thread on Thursday.

NIS2009 is OOS

You can still make a little money with just Tax software and NAV.
There is one seller at e-junkie that has 25 off 75 coupons for $5.99.
Remember, this deal is only good 11-29-08.

I had to buy Turbo Tax Basic + eFile,, NAV 2009, Mcafee Anti-Theft. $100 - $25 coupon (already paid) - $90 MIR ($20 for Tax, $40 for Symantec, $30 for Mcafee). Total will be making $10 ONLY. Too bad NIS 2009 is OOS.

As a relative newbie, I need a bit of clarification. For the "e-mail confirmation," do I send a print out of the order confirmation or the shipping confirmation or what?

What constitutes the store receipt? A copy of the packing slip? Or something I print out from the Staples website?

What will they accept as proof of previous ownership?

It should be somewhere on the box.

Send a copy of the email Staples sent you shortly after ordering.

When you receive your order there will be a packing-receipt sheet in the box. Use a copy of that for your store receipt.

What will they accept as proof of previous ownership?

I always use a photo copy of the CD from any Norton (Symantec) or McAfee product.

what time zone is Staples on? Is it too late to get on this deal or is there 30 left (pacific time)

alert mods

Just one more little piece of advice. Buy Staples gift cards at a grocery store (Ralphs, Vons etc) to cover the amount of the purchase and you will get 5% Cash Back with many credit cards.

Simply cash will give you 5% CB by just using it at Staples itself...

Does anyone know if NIV can be on a separate receipt from NAV and TaxCut?

The Easy Rebate won't work if they're not on the same receipt. You would have to submit it by mail as a mail-in rebate (sending both receipts to them), but there's still a chance that they will invalidate it and that you will have to call them to fix it.

Just as a reminder, in 2009 symantec seems to be putting the second POP (if you need two for different rebates) on their user manual. There used to be a separate card inside with it on, but that is gone (at least in 2009 AV), but the second POP is still there.

Thanks op but looks like NIS is out of stock.

No, no, no. You only need to send a single receipt. The best thing I have found is the page from order status that shows the order date and items/prices. The packing slip also works.

Sending too much stuff (like two different receipts) only complicates things.
