Great deal. It looks like the program is going to need an update almost immediately after I get it. There's suppose to be an update on Dec. 12th to fix the issues noted on Amazon. I'm not installing it until the spring (I'm not risking it) but this price is too good to let pass.
Yep. I read those reviews as well, most criticisms were based on a change to the online banking and a multitude of pop up ads from Intuit. The pop ups can be repressed in preferences, and Intuit states that the online banking will be fixed in the next update (Dec 12TH). Hopefully they come through, the online stuff is important!

Is there any significant updates in this release? I update almost every year and nothing seems to change much.
I use to just upgrade to get the updated payroll tables but now they don't give you the updated payroll tables with each new version and they make you buy a payroll subscription every month or for the year.

Anyone know what the 3-user exactly is. Is it 3-users working at a time, or 3 computers installation (like how microsoft software is).
I'd like to install on two computers, but use them myself (no more than one person on).
Also, per the bad reviews on Amazon regarding the online link stuff, how does 09 compare to 08 for those who have used both.
Thanks.

My guess would be that their 1-user license will allow you to use a single version on two computers (one home and one office) provided that you don't use both simultaneously. Double check their EULA though.
The 3-user version allows 3 people to share a single QB data file simultaneously (or individually). Probably way overkill for your needs.

Thanks a lot OP. This was $180 only a few days ago. And I was going to pull the trigger then.

Is this true? You don't get payroll update with the new version anymore?

you dont need to purchase QuickBooks software every year for Payroll updates. You have to buy the Payroll subscription every year.
With Basic or Enhanced payroll, you have to purchase QuickBooks software every 3 years (Allows you to do payroll on 3 EIN with single subscription) With Assisted Payroll or Online Payroll, you dont even need QuickBooks software

My office uses version 2007 now, and when I download account transactions I just need to push a button "Add Multiple" to get 95% of the transactions entered automatically. The reviews say that this feature went away, but Intuit claims that it will be added back in in an update to be released before the end of the month...
Yes, appears to be dead. Back up to $179.99 now...

It seems that Intuit wants $350 to renew my QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll subscription. Since it appears that I should be able to get a brand new copy for at least half that, does any one know if I can just buy a new copy and reinstall it (or maybe just update the service key) instead of doing the automatic update?

I know some of us missed out on the Staples FAR deal...at least I did :/ but the price for QuickBooks Pro 2009 is back to $99.95 and the code "GDY69SDI" for $20 off still seems to be working. I think I'm going in...
