When prompted to select a phone select the blackberry 8120 or any other hotspot at home compatible device.

You can also try the search.live.com CashBack and then search for accessories and go to routers

Link doesn't work.

edit/ yankes beat me to it.

live.com CashBack is 25%. Shipping costs $6.99 for one, $9.99 for two.

just had to post it to fatwallet didnt u , way to ruin a good deal

Nice deal. Still one of the best routers out there.

Do a live search for 'T-Mobile' to pull up the 25% live CashBack link.

This is a rebrand for T-Mobile, more info here

backordered, and could not get the live Cash Back to work. Just kept giving me a grey screen.

As mentioned in SD, T-Mobile charges some weird high tax rate. My tax should be 8%, but was charged almost 12%.

You can buy it in store for $19.99 plus tax. If you have T-Mobile and add the $9.99 Unlimited Hotspot calling then it's free after rebate. My store has about 12 in stock alone.

Because both links do not work and I couldn't find router on the tmobile site, I just called tmobile CS (ye, give me some reds), and here is a deal.
I think because I'm tmobile customer, CSR offered this router to me for $29.99 + tax.
And then goes the best part - $29.99 rebate.
I do not have tmobile home plan, and CSR did not ask me if i want it.

I dont know what you will get in store but the one I ordered is listed as WRT54GS (not G alone). It's listed on shopping cart and confirmation page.

Just got back from picking up two from the store on Coleman Ave in San Jose, CA. You're right, they print out on the receipt as a WRT54GS. At first the manager on duty said they could only honor the $19.95 price with a 2 yr renewal. I'm not even a T-Mobile customer! When I said it didn't say anything about it on the web pages, they looked and agreed.

Just to cover his ass (his exact words!), he tried calling his boss but couldn't get a hold of him. He was cool about it and said for the cashier to ring it up anyway. He said he had tons of these things and understood a new model was coming out, which is probably why they reduced the price. He still hasn't heard back from the boss if it's ok to just sell these outright but I decided to put out the info anyway. Just be aware that you might get shutdown if you go to that location and his boss has nixed the deal.

Do you guys who have Tmobile, infer that either the service is tanking of something more exciting is coming since test phase is over?

Anyone have any experience with live.com and backordered items?
I have one in my cart and just need to click Place Order, but I am worried about the Cash Back.
(I would like to upgrade my router, but don't "need" it.)

Did you see the CashBack symbol on this item when you add it to cart? I tried to launch the T-Mobile website through live.com link and paste the address from the owner provided, however, when add the router to cart, I did not see the CashBack symbol at all, thus, I'm not sure if it is eligible for 25% discount. Any ideas?

CashBack showed up for me in my live account.

It's doesn't work the same way as eBay. You should get a popup when you link through Live to T-Mobile. It ask you for your email address and stuff. If you didn't get that you won't get CashBack.

I got in with back order. I did also get my live.com Cash Back $5.0.

Here is how-to:
1. Go to live.com type in"tmobile" and enter
2. Click the link with 25% off to T-Mobile.com and place order.

That's all it takes to get $5 off.

FYI-
If you goto accessories, select a wifi phone, then "routers" on the left, it also shows a DLink model for $19.

Got 5 for $93.98 shipped after Cash Back.

I already got a tracking number, and the Cash Back e-mail.

Well, I tried to order one (going through the Cash Back link) and I got this message. Anyone know why I'd get this?

We are currently reviewing your order number xxxxxxxxx and may require additional information. To complete your order, please call 1-800-672-5390 at your earliest convenience. Our customer service agents are available Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. PT, and Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. Holiday hours may vary.

Also, does the Cash Back work if I order a phone upgrade online?

nope

when T-Mobile's website is launched by live.com, how did you search for this router, just paste the link directly?

Live.com on Firefox gives grey screen when you search for Tmobile, however, works fine in IE. Use IE to order and get your 25% Cash Back!

No router is visible anymore from anywhere... DEAD

Edit : Just a sec. before I got it in the cart. For some reason I wanted to refresh my transaction and it's not there anymore...

I just managed to order 5 using IE as Firefox did not work. TMO site shows OOS but taking back orders for shipping so placed an order and got a confirmation from TMobile. Even got my email from live.com for $25 CashBack Plan to use these as Access Points in 3 levels of my house. Perhaps cheapetr than the WET54G even on eBay.

I am able to see the router. Just select accessories tab first and click on any phone (I used Blackberry) to get to the router list.

I ordered one, got Live Cash Back e-mail and order confirmation e-mail from T-Mobile. Hopefully this goes through. *crosses fingers*

I went through the cart and I am being charge for tax and shipping and that is $8 more then $19.99 and will get $5 CashBack. I want to use it as a wireless bridge but at that price maybe not. Just got myself a WET54G bridge for $10 more on eBay - at least I know it will work for sure!

Thanks!
Order 2 and received confirmation email from Tmobile.
Used the live link and entered email at pop up window but no confirmation email from live and not showing up on CashBack account.
What should I do?
I ordered around 8 PM today and still not showing...

I'm not sure if people are just jumping on this deal because of the infamous WRT-54G. There have been at least 7 incarnations of that router and I don't think the current ones are modifiable with custom firmwares unless you buy the more expensive open-source model which costs more. So unless someone can confirm that you can modify it with a custom firmware, that to me isn't as hot of a deal.

Click me!

Once you get DD-WRT on there, you can then use the http updater to install Tomato or whatever you wish (at least that's the consensus from all those people at SlickDeals who have already done it! )

That being said, I'll try to swing by a local T-Mobile store to see if they honor the price.

had go to 2 different store since they would only sell one. One store gave me hassle about needing to have the wifi service but mentioned the website had no restrictions and girl was cool and sold me one.

The reason you got this message is because of vultures like the guy above buying FIVE of them at a time just to put them on eBay!

Their GREED means the rest of us suffer! I'm on the phone with T Mobile now and they figured out the VULTURE FACTOR so now people like you and me can't get ONE!

The irony is that I wanted this for my brother's Christmas present AND HE'S A T MOBILE CUSTOMER!!!

Go to the store folks. That works better IMHO.

Because

1. Store price is also 19.99
2. You do not have to pay shipping (that offsets you not getting the $5 CashBack)
3. You pay standard tax. Not some wierd high tax by the website
4. You get the unit in hand right now. (Who know what will happens with those backorders)
5. Easy to return, just in case you changed your mind.

My weborder (that did not go through for different reason) was 19.99 + 6.88(S&H) + 1.45(Tax) = 28.32

I just got one from local store for 19.99 + 1.00 (Tax) = 20.99

Good Luck.

And Thanks OP.

EDIT : OP, it may be a good ides to add "also in store YMMV" in your title.

Those who have already got their WRT54G-TM, Please post if you could flash it with the firmware that makes it a Wireless Bridge. A link to that firmware/procedure is appreciated.

Edit : Got one here for DD-WRT. Can not confirm as I have not used it.

I beat you both to it at about 2:15 am! (look up)!

For what its worth; the local Ritz Camera in Palm Desert, CA is having a liquidation sale, on the shelf were 2 WRT54G-TM for $39 which is 20% off. The markdown will increase as the weeks pass, but you may lose out. They and the other T-Mobile phones are available without contract. Try your local Ritz if your interested.
