Dead Online Tmobile's no longer selling the router online, and many people have been getting the following email: Dear T-Mobile Customer,
Thank you for ordering the T-Mobile @Home® Linksys router. Due to high demand, this router is currently out of stock.
We will be upgrading your order and shipping you the T-Mobile @Home® HiPort%u2122 router instead. You should receive your order on or before Tuesday, December 23. We%u2019ll send you an e-mail once your order has shipped, so you%u2019ll know it%u2019s on its way.
We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
There doesn't seem to be much info on the replacement router. If you were planning to flash DD-WRT or another firmware and got the replacement, you're probably out of luck.
But, after a cursory look at the product manual from Linksys, it looks like it'll function as a pretty capable 802.11G wireless router.

You can buy it in store for $19.99 plus tax. If you have T-Mobile and add the $9.99 Unlimited Hotspot calling then it's free after rebate. My store has about 12 in stock alone.
Because both links do not work and I couldn't find router on the tmobile site, I just called tmobile CS (ye, give me some reds), and here is a deal. I think because I'm tmobile customer, CSR offered this router to me for $29.99 + tax. And then goes the best part - $29.99 rebate. I do not have tmobile home plan, and CSR did not ask me if i want it.
Just got back from picking up two from the store on Coleman Ave in San Jose, CA. You're right, they print out on the receipt as a WRT54GS. At first the manager on duty said they could only honor the $19.95 price with a 2 yr renewal. I'm not even a T-Mobile customer! When I said it didn't say anything about it on the web pages, they looked and agreed.
Just to cover his ass (his exact words!), he tried calling his boss but couldn't get a hold of him. He was cool about it and said for the cashier to ring it up anyway. He said he had tons of these things and understood a new model was coming out, which is probably why they reduced the price. He still hasn't heard back from the boss if it's ok to just sell these outright but I decided to put out the info anyway. Just be aware that you might get shutdown if you go to that location and his boss has nixed the deal.

Do you guys who have Tmobile, infer that either the service is tanking of something more exciting is coming since test phase is over?
Anyone have any experience with live.com and backordered items? I have one in my cart and just need to click Place Order, but I am worried about the Cash Back. (I would like to upgrade my router, but don't "need" it.)
Did you see the CashBack symbol on this item when you add it to cart? I tried to launch the T-Mobile website through live.com link and paste the address from the owner provided, however, when add the router to cart, I did not see the CashBack symbol at all, thus, I'm not sure if it is eligible for 25% discount. Any ideas?

It's doesn't work the same way as eBay. You should get a popup when you link through Live to T-Mobile. It ask you for your email address and stuff. If you didn't get that you won't get CashBack.
