Today at 12pm AARP's discount website, Linky is giving away a discount at Home Depot. It is $300 off a $500 ONLINE Home Depot purchase. You must link thru this discount website to Home Depot's to effect the discount which shows up as a credit on your statement 24-48 hours after the transaction.

This is a new promotion. Yesterday they had a $400 off $700 Lenovo purchase. It took 40 minutes for the 100 reservations to be given away.

So your chances are good as most AARP members probably just threw out the flyer that was mailed to them about this.

You have to be an AARP member or use an AARP members # to register free for the website. Once in, look for the Tuesday Deal and click on "more info". This will bring you to the screen with the button you click at 12pm to get what they call a "reservation". This gives you 36 hours to complete your purchase.

The promo as it appears on the site:

First 100 People: Receive $300 off Your Purchase of $500 or more

Take $300 off your purchase of $500 or more sitewide.

Hundreds of Popular Name Brands: DeWalt, Maytag, GE, Hampton Bay, Husky, Toro, Magnavox, Makita, Black & Decker, Hunter, Stanley, Cuisinart, Weber, Dremel, Milwaukee, and more.

Tomorrow it is $700 SonyStyle TVs, Thursday is Blue Nile Discount, Friday is SonyStyle again.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Do you have to be over 50 to join AARP? They sent me an invitation to join a while back, and I'm nowhere near 50...

do you know if we can buy GCs?

What if you are not the first 100 person? Just waste of time IMO.

I haven't seen anything specific about gc's. But in most promos they exclude them. This promo gives you a statement credit after the purchase.

When you get the "reservation" as they call it, you use your credit card to get/reserve it and then have 36 hours to use the same credit card to make the purchase. I guess the credit card is an identifier.

You young whippersnappers better not be thinking about circumventing the rules or faking your age, because we're old, we're bold and I'm a card-carrying member.

Now keep those balls in your own yard AND GET OFF MY FRONT LAWN!

Does getting a reservation mean that you are one of the first 100?

SkipSwift said: Does getting a reservation mean that you are one of the first 100?

sold out in 10 seconds...IF that long.

OMG sold out immediately.

Once I get my teeth in and snap my bad knee back into place imma kick some young arse.

Ha ha, not even 12:01 and it's sold out

People are a heck of a lot faster today. I hit at noon, got a page unavailable site and by the time I refreshed, it was gone!
Edit: there are more people aware, and probably more people interested in HD as well. Darn!

WOWZA! Sold out in less than a minute! Not like yesterday. Word is out now!

same thing i did, i clicked at noon, got the page unavailble then refreshed and sold out

I kept refreshing my screen to bring up the available button. When it was available there were 48 left. I clicked, it spun, it was done.

Does the available button come up w/o refreshing? Otherwise, you have to be quick draw here.

Me too. unavailable and sold out.

Glad I used a junk mail to register.

I suppose 100 will post here that they got it.

I was able to get the make a reservation page, but the next screen was where you had to input your credit card. By the time I got my credit card input it was sold out.

I was able to get a reservation...........entered CC info...........and then pressed button.....no popup or email..........did I miss out or ?

Gone in less than 1 second. Someone must have figured out a way to automatically post to AARP when the offer became "official". If you tried by hand like me you did not stand a chance.

I remember the first year of Wishlist the shannanagans that went on. I wonder if any happened today?

its hard to beleive that 100 deals went that fast

That happened to me yesterday but I got it. Check your email. They send it pretty quick.

In the FAQ's you can change your email preference:

I would like to opt out of receiving Everyday Savings Center e-mails. How can I do that?

You may opt out of receiving any or all Everyday Savings Center e-mails at any time by editing your e-mail settings. Since many of the offers are available for a limited time only, we recommend opting in for specific merchants of interest to you. You can specify your choices by going to the "e-mail & Reminders" link in the My Account section. Please note that changing your e-mail preferences for Everyday Savings Center will not in any way change your Everyday Savings Center membership status.

Too late for me! Akk sokd out.

If I have a Sony style credit card can i use it tommorow? and also is this for just tv's or is it for anything on SonyStyle web site, like laptops. thanks

Skipping 185 Messages...

Had some issues getting my Blue Nile credit, potnetially due to the fact theat Blue Nile sends out their confirmation emails hours late, and charged my card a full day late. Emailed them a more than a few times, and each thime they responded I still had to go through the automated email thingy on the everydaysavings site. Long story short: after mentioning the BBB, the credit posted on January 9.
