Glary Utilities Pro offers numerous powerful and easy-to-use system tools and utilities to fix, speed up, maintain and protect your PC.
It allows you to clean common system junk files, as well as invalid registry entries and Internet traces. You can manage and delete browser add-ons, analyze disk space usage and find duplicate files. You can also view and manage installed shell extensions, encrypt your files from unauthorized access and use, split large files into smaller manageable files and then rejoin them.
Furthermore, Glary Utilities Pro includes the options to optimize memory, find, fix, or remove broken Windows shortcuts, manage the programs that start at Windows startup and uninstall software. Other features include secure file deletion, an Empty Folder finder and more.
Features:
* Automatic care in background; * Optimize, clean and boost the speed of your Windows; * Protect your privacy and security; * Block spyware, trojans, adware, etc; * Fix certain application errors; * Simple, fast and User friendly interface.
It is a really cool app. Very simple and easy to use. I was always looking for something that will go through the Registry and remove junk. It did with ease. Only down side is that the file is not the newest version, it looks like they do release very often.
I've been a fan of Glary Undelete (doesn't look like that's part of this suite though) - which was able to recover files from a flash drive that I was having problems getting with other undelete programs... So, I think the company does decent work. Also, the current reviews are 77% positive, which is pretty good for the GAOTD offerings...
Comparing the two versions: 1) Glary Utilities PRO (30-day full function trial) and 2) Glary Utilities version 2.10.0.622 (100% freeware) as shown on their website glaryutilities.com, I found that specific features described in the "Category" and "modules" seem to be identical.
However, the following extra items are listed in the general description for the PRO version:
-> Automatic care in background
-> Much much more powerful utilities
whereas the free download version only says that it is:
-> For only private use
These are just a superficial observation from their website. I am not sure what really are the differences though.

Some users at GAOTD site are reporting that you can load the giveaway version then download the update 2.10 and install it, keeping the registered version...

downloaded, used and felt good when it detected and fixed "1000's of problems". But I saw no perceptible change in performance in my PC, which has been running slow compared to its configuration.
Nope. It clearly says on their website that it works with 64 bit xp as well as Vista. I just intalled on 64 bit vista .. upgraded to the newer version. Works nicely.
AcidSpectrum said: FYI requires installing Ask tool bar / search. I didn't like that. Actually it doesn't make you install it. On the screen with the license agreement, its just for the Ask toolbar, not GU. You can uncheck both boxes and click next to continue installation of GU. No Ask toolbar. A little bit tricky I'd say, but you can get around it.
