Just browsing on the IBM EPP site and found the S10 in there. Recertified used, 6 months warranty. Hope you have friends that work for IBM. $224.25+TAX, Free Shipping.
If it was some random person Id post it, but mine was a personal friend and dont want to risk her getting in trouble when 500 people order these with her ID#.
If anyone is in the South Bay area and wants to meet up, I can type my login in. Just PM me and we can arrange something. I don't want it spread out on the Internet, because you never know what people can do with this information.
Well what did you expect? You post a deal and make it sound like it's available to anyone but in reality it's only available to a VERY LIMITED number of people. And while you did offer to share your employee info, not every FW'er lives in the South Bay.
So that's not a "hot deal" and it's been rated accordingly. Nothing personal.

Awesome. I just won't post the deal next time. BTW, title says EPP site. I'm sorry if I wasted your mouse click.

Thanks, OP! I almost ordered another deal last night so I am glad I waited. The link and code worked well and I already received a confirmation of my order. Hopefully it will be shipped soon!

thats cuz in the OP, hes talking about the real EPP link which is $225. The link thats open to public is $299 plus coupons. So real IBM employees get it for $5 cheaper.
It means anything external that shows wear they replaced... they reformatted everything to spec, but that all the internal components have some use on them, most likely.

From the link: "Carefully refurbished and tested using IBM specifications — you can acquire IBM quality at a fraction of the original price."
So what does that mean?
nothing since Lenovo quality has nothing to do with IBM quality.
ibm sells servers,storage.
Lenovo sells latops,desktops,low-end servers. Lenovo is not in the same ballgame as IBM RE quality
Except that Lenovo bought all manufacturing lines, intellectual property, and business practices with respect to IBM laptops. Therefore I would say that IBM and Lenovo quality are pretty damn close.

Yeah, I hate it when my ram wears out from extended use. Those moving parts don't last forever, you know.

Legend (Lenovo's former name) made most of the old Thinkpads dating back to around 2000. So, yeah, I'd say that they're pretty close. ; ) At least as far as the Thinkpad-branded products anyway. IBM outsourced its Thinkpad PCB production and assembly to Solectron/Flextronics back in 1999 and IBM itself did very little if any production or assembly work for the Thinkpads. Since the agreement with Lenovo in 2004 IBM's role has been to provide branding, marketing and sales, and support (which has been gradually phased out). The improvements made to the line in more recent years like the roll cage came from Lenovo not IBM.

Exactly what Netropy stated, the Ideapad is on par with other laptop manufacturers but the thinkpad line is one of the best out there. Already broke my first s10, in for a second one now...
My white S10 arrived today. If it wasn't for the stupid "used" sticker on the bottom you couldn't tell it was used. This is a very nice netbook. Just need to install the 2gb ram I bought when it arrives.
i can't stand the shift (right) key and the super tiny touch pad. the touch pad is slick too so if you have any human body oil it is difficult to use. maybe my fingers/hand is too big.
the mini-9/2140/1000 i have does not really bug me in this way.
i wish Lenovo had put more old skool styling cues other than a blinged out chrome set of buttons for the touchpad. Kick it old skool like the X300.
oh well time to hackin' tosh it

Got mine yesterday, it looks like a brand new item. I'm going to install 2gb RAM from FRY - $10.99 AR.
