1 cent appetizer with purchase of any beverage, $1 entree with purchase of an entree.

mr wu, can both coupon work for the same visit?

Probably not. Coupon states it isn't valid in conjunction with any other coupon or offer.
I guess it really depends on your server though, in some cases.

The 1 cent appetizer says at the bar, so grab a cold one at the bar while you're waiting for your table, then the other when your table is available. Not stacking, but you can use it in the same visit.

If the server doesn't let you use both coupons, take the disputed amount out of her tip.

That's what i'm talking about as well, Looks like i'm on the way to becoming a TGI Regular

So you are saying he was actually a she? Damn, post-op transgenders are hard to catch these days.

I might drive to Seattle for this...

Does anyone have a direct link from the e-mail? I have always found that it works much better with a printout using the link and print it from the page view... Never been denied when I use it that way.

Agree, the full print will much increase the success chance of using this coupon.

THAT is rotten!! they depend on their tip to earn a wage, not on their base pay.

Whether if you use a coupon or not, they've WAITED you on the ENTIRE meal and you should tip on the FULLL amount before coupons are applied. don't be a cheap ass. you alreay got a free/discounted meal. least you can do is give them a nice tip.

only if the service was good. otherwise, tip will be appropriate to level of service received.

Who's to said s/he didn't provide good service? if you're being argumentive about whether if the coupon applied or not, it isn't their fault it doesn't apply and you want to make an issue out of it and use that as bad service and therefore bad tip.

the girl/guy, isn't making money from how much you eat, other than what she gets paid in tips. you're penalizing her because you cannot get the coupon to work to your favor. that is crap.

normal tip is 15% with OK service, and amount can go above or below that, on the amount of goods consumed, including the price of said discounted item.

it sucks to see that while people are trying to make a deal, and then try to skip out on putting a tip down cu they didn't get what they want.

if you go there with another person just have them ring up 2 seperate checks...1 for you with the appetizer and the othe for your friend or whomever with the entrees

so for the entree coupon, it says per person. Say I go with 2 other friends, can each of us print out a copy of the coupon and use it on the entree?

Stanleychs1437 said: so for the entree coupon, it says per person. Say I go with 2 other friends, can each of us print out a copy of the coupon and use it on the entree?

yes you can, just make sure you tell them it's 2 separate checks.

Blame on economy for this shameful suggestion(or maybe not)...

I don't think the person did this because of economics. A tip's not gonna break someone's budget, and to go to that length is just ludicrous.

tsee said: I don't think the person did this because of economics. A tip's not gonna break someone's budget, and to go to that length is just ludicrous.

Agreed. the way i see it is this and this is usally the minimal and doesn't include appetizer or dessert...

2 Meals = 40
2 Drinks = 5
Tax = 2.25
Total = 47.25.

Tip = 7.09.

Total - 54.34

I'd usually would round upwards to the nearest dollar, making it $55.

Say if one of the meals is free, that's $27.25. I'd give them at least a $10 tip. Both parties got something out of it.

Since this deal seems popular, I put 3 copies of the coupons on a single page for those who might use it multiple times.

Whoa, this is terrific, I absolutely love TGI. Thanks so much!

TGIF's parking lot is waaaayyyy better than TGIF.

May I ask where the coupon came from? If you had a link to an email or something it would look a little more legit (please note that I am not questioning the validity of the coupons; it's pretty obvious they're legit--just wondering where they came from).

no you can't do this, we tried once, only because each of the couples brought a coupon and we didn't know it. The server politely informed us that company guidelines prohibit coupon use of more than 1 per table. We were ok with that, because we had been given a free entree because of the coupon. We were happy with saving $9, and didn't want to be a pain in the a&&e. The server then brought our check back and had comped a 2nd entree for us because she felt bad telling us we couldn't use our 2nd coupon. Guess where that extra $9 went? you guessed it, right to the tip. What i'm trying to say is that, if you can afford to go out to eat, you can afford to leave a good tip (if there is good service), if not, still leave 10% minimum. If you can't afford to leave a good tip, don't go out to eat and stay home and cook. Red if you want, but it is one of my biggest pet peeves that some people can't seem to treat other people right these days.

and since i'm sure someone will ask, no, i never worked as a server, but I have worked as a bellman, so I know how important tips can be to a person

I disagree. If you're a bad server, cab driver... then your pay should suffer. Maybe you should find another job that doesn't involve interacting with people. I'm so tired of the tip police. Leave 10% for bad service. Give $1 on a drink. Leave 17% on an expensive meal. Why don't you leave whatever you feel like leaving and let us do the same?

Actually I was watching "The King of Queens" the other day, and they have the best solution yet for a bad waitress/waiter. Carrie asked the waitress twice for the bill, but the waitress ignored her while chatting it up with another waitress, so Carrie and her friend ran out without paying the bill or the tip. Actually the girl that was with Carrie was a troubled teen that Carrie was mentoring... LOL!

SliccyVic said: dhho1 said: ..... normal tip is 15% with OK service, and amount can go above or below that, .....

15% better be GOOD service and not just OK service. EXCEPTIONAL service get more. But in the end I never include the tax in my tip calculation. Tips on tax are ridiculous as well as the expectations of some of the waitstaff.

Dose the 1cent coupon work with the appetizer sampler?

thanks a lot, these are great! i love the potato skins (though my body doesn't, lol)!

Just got an E-mail with this deal from 3-20 to 4-30. This is screaming hot. It even says to use the first at the bar, then head to the table and use the 2nd coupon.

Hmmm...took the girlf to use this and after splitting a 1-cent app and getting an entrée each, we still ended up paying $44 total after margarita, dessert (and of course a 25% tip)

Looks like you won this round TGI Friday's!

Damn! I'd be lucky to leave a 5 dollar bill. Don't get greedy. I dunno, but if I ever left a 10 dollar tip the service would have to be exceptional and the food would have to be cooked to perfection and some how I just don't think of TGIF even comes close to being in that class.

It's basically a burger king that sells alcohol. 10 dollar tip? Get real.

Amazing how many cheap MFers there are these days. You tip on the full amount, prior to coupon. They still had to serve you all the food. Obviously someone who never worked in the restaurant business.

I second this guys opinion. What a tool. Are they providing you less than normal service because you are using a coupon...you tip on the meal price before coupon...

agreed this guy is a douche. its people like hiim who promote bad service. i work at a restaurant where kids eat free tuesday nights. that shift is notorious for shitty tips. people think its ok to tip on the amount after the discount. they dont realize the server puts effort into getting their order right, drinks out in a timely manner, and food out hot.

Looks like tomorrow is the last day to use these coupons!!

I don't tip on sales tax. It's 9.25% here. My 15% tip on the above meal would be $6.75. I rarely tip less, but I rarely get decent service either, and I usually end up feeling irritated about it. After reading that servers expect crappy tips from a family with kids, I think I now understand why I get such crappy service, and I just may start leaving crappy tips because of it.

I received these coupons via email from TGIF and tried it last night. Went to the bar - ordered a Blue Moon ($3.50 special) and got a tray of 4 small burgers (Jack Daniel's Burger Sampler) for free (she didn't charge me the penny). The burger sampler plate is $9.99 on the menu, so this deal is great. I was full so skipped dinner - I'll save that coupon for another time. I even got a few Stripes points. Tipped $3 and agree you should tip on the full price before coupon.

Before someone says something (as they tend to do here), the coupon is good for the Jack Daniel's Burger Sampler. The exclusion on the coupon is for the Jack Daniel's Sampler which is different and, I believe, is $13.99. I checked before ordering.

TGIF may live to regret these coupons. There is no limit - they can be printed multiple times - each person in the party can use a coupon. They'll be giving away a LOT of samplers.

As referenced in this thread Fridays has a promo going today only (Apr. 15th) where you get a $5 or $10 gift card for spending $15 or $25, respectively. I was able to get the gift card on top of the BOGO coupon.
Thanks, I was wondering that. Will be going tonight.
