$18 (with cb) is a pretty damn good deal for a pair of 514's.... wish the other washes were the same price. would for sure stock up. thanks op. green.
Isn't 20 bucks normally what these jeans go for? I love my 514s, and I get them for 20 bucks from dept stores.

i've never seen these sub $20.... think the best i've ever seen at a store was at mervyns during one of their huge sales was like 25-27 and that wasnt including tax.... i have been able to snag a pair or two on eBay for about this though.

I'm not seeing that, either. The closest I could find to this was "Buy 2 and get them for $39.50 EACH"

Yeah, but Wal Mart Levi's aren't REAL Levi's. They're made for the store using low cost materials. Basically, Wal Mart is paying for the name, not the quality...just like Target does.
I would suggest you buy one of each. Wear them till they fall apart. And decide for yourself if there are any differences.

I'm not sure about the exact differences in cut and fit, but I do know that Levi's from the Levi's store offers much more variety in terms of style.
At Wal-Mart, you're going to see the "special" line of Levi's with less stylistic elements and less durability. I never understood the carpenter style that I see a lot of people wearing (the one with the loop for a hammer, presumably), but these "functional" styles are the ones that you see at Wal Mart.
This month, Levi’s is introducing its new, less expensive Signature jeans line. (The jeans, for men, women and children, sell for around $23. They have fewer detail finishes than Levi’s other lines. They don’t have the company’s trademark red tab or stitching on the pocket.) Of course, there’s something in it for Wal-Mart. The company, already the largest clothing retailer in the world, wants more affluent customers. To lure them in, it needs big brands. Acknowledging that the company’s customers come from a "cross-section of income levels and lifestyles," Wal-Mart Senior Vice President Lois Mikita says the company "continues to tailor its selection to meet the needs of those customers."
The quality definitely seems to be lacking. For a hiking trip, I bought a cheap pair of Levi's from Wal-Mart. The fit was not the best, it felt loose on the waist. You'll notice the it loses it's "rugged" look after a few washes and a difference in the color, plus the bottom part will tatters quickly if they touch the ground when you walk.
"The jury is still out as to whether this structure is going to work," says retail consultant Bernard. Levi’s might think it can fool customers into thinking the jeans on a Wal-Mart rack are "real" Levi’s, but he’s not so sure customers will understand the $24.99 versus $50 price difference between the pair at Wal-Mart and the pair at Macy’s. And if the jeans aren’t selling well at Macy’s, what makes Levi’s so sure it can sell jeans at Wal-Mart?
The difference to me: My Wal-Mart pair ended up in the donation bin after a few months, whereas I've been wearing my 527s for about 3 years now (and they still look great).
Live search did not find any discount for me, but I ordered 3 pairs anyway, a 514, and 2 527s. Fairly risky for me, since I had to get 32s, not 31s, and have not purchased these styles before. I guess I can always use them around the house. Was the live.com search 10% active earlier?
Edit: The link though live shows 10%, but you get an error when it tries to redirect you.
