Good price. I would get one, but I've been spending too much lately.

In for one to replace my very ancient Wacom that won't work with Vista. I hear this is an excellent tablet. Thanks OP!

Just purchased a laptop off of sellout.woot must...resist XD. I'm also on the lookout for a cheap 2x2gb laptop ram. +1 OP

excellente!

im in for one... thanks lots OP!!!

In for one--thanks!

Bought 1 & i don't even need it.

I really want one. I don't know why, but I do.

Is it really that much easier to do photoshop editing with one of these?

free shiipng not working for me? Saying item not qualified for 2-day free.

included drivers and utilities. I would assume these are the standard utilities that they usually come with (Adobe elements and Corel paint (but what version?))

YES. much easier!

i am a retoucher at a marketing agency and every retoucher in the whole company has one... we use the 9x12 intuos 3 at work but for home use a $47 bamboo will be more than fine

Free shipping "appears" to not work at first. Just input coupon, then scroll down and choose 2 business day shipping. It will then give free shipping.
If using Dell dpa you can save another $1.35, and 2.5% through Fatwallet.

THANKS OP! My Son is an artist, he will love this.

Has anyone gotten the free shipping to work? It's still a good without the free shipping, though.

edit: above post works, thanks!

Very warm deal. Newegg wants $70 for it. Thanks, OP!

Thanks for the tip. I was also having an issue with this.

Thanks also to OP!

Yes I figured that out, thanks a lot.

heh i got a whole stack of these. they are a royal pita to use compared to a decently sized intuos. disable the horrible gesture system and it will much better.

my (bamboo) sits under a pile of books now. where as the larger wide-format intuos gets used. something about the size was very very difficult to adjust to. or the pen or something.

Keep in mind that this is the regular Bamboo. Not the Bamboo Fun. What does this mean? When you flip the pen around to use as an eraser, it does nothing. For some it could be a deal breaker. I am an idiot so the eraser is an essential function for me when editing photos.

I have a standard Bamboo and the eraser functions well. If I recall, the difference is that the Bamboo Fun comes with a mouse.

It is a really great gadget and a lot of fun to use. If you are interested in getting into digital art, this is a great entry level price. I find the size pretty perfect for most applications, but I can understand someone used to a bigger tablet finding it annoying.

totally. just make sure you want to use it for fun and not serious work which is still a bargain

tempted to get one for my brother

The other difference between this and the Fun version is supposedly the texture of the pad itself. I believe the Fun has a bumpy texture that is meant to mimic the feel of pencil on paper whereas the non-Fun has a smooth pad. I picked it up anyways as I have been meaning to get a tablet for a while to see how they feel. I'm currently borrowing a tablet pc and the ability to write on the screen is very useful at times. I'm not sure how it will be, not writing on the screen itself, but for this price I'll give it a try.

Can't people just tape down a piece of paper to get the paper feel?

Does this only work with Vista or will this work with XP as well? I've been wanting one for awhile and this is a great price!

well on vista ultimate this makes your tablet functionality come alive. iirc the XP had a special version for tablet called XP tablet edition.

honestly all that handwriting stuff just gets in the way. same with gestures. use it with pshop and be done. or get a multitouch screen and wait for windows 7

I have this model and the Bamboo Fun. The main differences are the Bamboo Fun comes with a wireless mouse and includes Adobe photo and Corel paint software.

I bought this model off eBay for my daughter to draw thinking it was the same as the Bamboo Fun. So I then bought a Bamboo Fun and once I installed the software that came Bamboo Fun this model seems to work the same except for not having the wireless mouse.

Plus I paid under $50.00

That's what I did for out Wacom Graphire - just used a self adhesive label.

hmm you may be on to something. the texture was different and since these are capacitive pens you can stack a ton of junk on the pad and it will still pick up

Missed out on FC b/c I didn't want it to go OOS while I was checking out. VERY excited about these.

Thanks OP. Since my desktop pub/retouching job is going overseas any month now I needed one for home. Maybe I can do some free-lance work at home before I get the Greeter job at Wally-mart.

Masking or erasing out backgrounds or just plain painting in photoshop is a walk in the park with a wacom tablet. you'll seriously wonder how the hell you got by without it.

I'd be in on this if the intuos4 didn't just come out. I'm waiting for a deal on one of those bad boys...

I installed it on a desktop running XP, so I don't see why it would be any different on a laptop. Just plugs into a USB port.

Thanks and to OP! Off to order...

I'm thinking my kids would have a blast using these to draw on a PC, but what appliations do they work with?

Give them a call. That's how I found out this model wasn't the same as the Bamboo fun.
