Kudos to Butcherboy and his thread from Feb that is now in the expired deals category.
Again, enter code 34567 after you select the phone to get an $8 discount in addition to free shipping. Be sure you select the reconditioned LG 300 phone with the additional 300 minute card, as there is a brand new one on the same page offerred at the same price, but without the additional 300 minute card.
UPDATE 30APR09, courtesy of pdiggity: Simply adding the 34567 code is no longer working for the $8 discount, it just gives you a $3 discount. After applying the original code, then add code 44477 which will give the $8 discount -- seems the >$19.99 code is auto applied at checkout for the free shipping.
UPDATE 7MAR10: Free shipping until 31 Mar 2010.
UPDATE 3JAN10: FW CB is now only 10%. So the net cost is $20 plus tax.
This is a flaming deal if you use Net10. That basic phone is a respectable performer for those who just want a phone. and the extra card is the gas that ignites the flaming deal.
Penguin, depending on your area - they use both. Most are GSM using ATT or Net10 as a provider. Using the zip code early on is how they determine what you get.

Can I buy this refurb combo & not activate it for 3 months? And will the additional 300 minute card add an additional 60 days?
Any other time limits to this deal?
I asked these questions to a sales rep. She said that you can hold on to the phone for as long as you want before activation. (And you will still get the 300 minutes, which is PROGRAMMED to the PHONE upon activation. As for the additional minutes, the airtime card will not expire if you don't add the minutes. But what they enforce is the following expiration scheme based on the amount of minutes you purchase: 300 min is valid for 60 days, 450min 90days, 1000min 180 days, 2000min 1 year... but will give you 1000 min bonus if you spend $400 to buy 4000 min that is valid for 2 years.
Honestly, I doubt if what she said were true or not, but we'll probably get a better idea when the phone and card arrives. Anyway, I just purchased the refurbished LG 300 as op mentioned for $23.81 shipped to calif. Thanks!
Edit: I received a confirmation email today and noticed that they raised the tax to be 1.93, rather than the estimated 1.81 yesterday. Not a big deal, but what you see might not be what they would really charge you. Btw, thanks jimates and sesquipedalian for your confirmation on how their phone and service work.

The phone will have 300 minutes and 60 days of service upon activation, now or later. I have kept them as long as 6 months.
The card will add 300 minutes and 60 days to any Net10 phone. The service days and minutes add together so 600 minutes and 120 days whether you add the card now or later.
If you want to buy the deals and sell the cards, I buy the cards for $20. After tax you may still be under 1 cent a minute for the phone.
You can transfer from one phone to another to stack the minutes and service days. Or with Google rolling out Google Voice (formerly Grand Central) changing numbers every 2 months is no big deal.
Tracfone and Net10 phones have proprietary firmware. They will only work on their system and their sim cards will not work in phones that do not have their firmware.
This is an AWESOME deal, just wish they still had the Nokia 1600's I've been activating them and if I get lucky and hit on a 'good' easy to remember phone number, keeping that one otherwise spare batteries and chargers, I am getting quite the collection.

I currently have a Verizon phone. Can I transfer the VZ phone number onto the NET10 phone? Sorry if my question is too too obvious. I'm new to this prepaid phone business.
"Will this work in Mexico? I may have an internship there and dont know wtf to do about a cell phone."
I've just checked TracFone and Net10 and NEITHER are supposed to roam outside the 50 US, PR or VI. If you know Spanish try TelCel, they're owned by the same people as TracFone/Net10 in the States and Claro/PRTC in PR.
They happen to have the largest wireless network in MX (they are the iPhone sellers over there...) and may have an option that may suit you...
just order and with tax $23.32 for virginia. super great deal.... thanks

i've read it's supposed to stay within the 50, but if i know someone in canada with a calling card that allows me to call them from any phone i want on their dime including pay phones, would i still be able to call with this cell phone? would it use up my minutes?
also if i take it with me to canada, can i still make calls to the states?
Also just a heads up, when using the free shipping mine was sent via a signature only someone HAS to be present at the address. You can't leave a note on the door nor can you sign off on the slip and leave it on your door nor can you leave a note that says have a neighbor sign for the package. Least how it worked for me and given would have had to drive 50 miles to a fedex office to pick it up, let the first one go back. Pick your order date carefully if someone won't be home that week when they do deliveries in your area. I ended up reordering another & having to get it delivered to work where someone would be there to sign.
how does texting go with net 10? i read that it is 5c a text, so does that mean with a 300 min card, you could essentially do 600 texts, i assume it keeps track and just takes out a half credit for a text? thanks.

RE: how does texting go
It goes along with the death and maiming of lots of people, dumb people, and as long as they are the only ones injured, good riddance.

I still have them form about 15 months ago, activated 2 in the last week, they got the 300 minutes as advertised.
thanks, had the same question.
I use 1 every 5 weeks, so I have done 3 more since my October 21 post. 2 went as they should, the other, (as has happened before) I had to call, and enter a seemingly endless series of numbers in the phone to get it to work....and have the 300 minutes. Phone got its number but showed no minutes and could not e used at first....
