Staplesdoes have Easy Rebates, which can be submitted completely online without the need to mail anything out. If the deal is mail-in only, i'll pass on it. It's so much simpler to submit Easy Rebates that i don't even bother with mail-ins, with very rare exceptions.

Promotion Details: TERMS AND CONDITIONS: This rebate is not eligible for online submission. It must be mailed. Request for refund must be postmarked ...
14 pieces in the bag. Rebate must be sent by snail-mail. Rebate submission does not need to be postmarked until July and must include UPC from bottom of bag.

Still not a bad deal for postage and sales tax.
I think I'll wait until the 10% Customer Appreciation Event starts on Sunday and buy it then. That will cover the postage.

FYI the rebate states they will pay up to $3.99 so the 10% will have basically no effect since your rebate will be reduced by the same?
cnIsfg said: FYI the rebate states they will pay up to $3.99 so the 10% will have basically no effect since your rebate will be reduced by the same?Unlikely to be a factor since the 10% will come off at the end of the order and the item will ring up at $3.99.

The 10% Staples CA discount(it is not a coupon) has not worked that way in a long time. The Staples receipt will display the 10% discounted amount on each line item on your receipt where it was applied.

Wait "6-8 weeks" which in reality becomes 10-12 weeks. Wait for denial postcard in the mail for "missing UPC" at the end of "6-8 weeks" Call rebate center to dispute claim. Speak to someone with foreign accent and little knowledge of reality. Resubmit copies of original documentation (You did remember to make photocopies of your UPC label, didn't you?!?) wait an additional "6-7 weeks" for confirmation postcard - which in reality becomes another 10-12 weeks. Then wait the additional 3-4 weeks after the confirmation postcard for your rebate check (or is it a VISA debit card?!?)
now, what else??? Nevertheless, a "Sweet" deal from OP! Thanks!!
PS. Oh, lighten up folks! I said this sarcastically!
Did anyone actually find a bag with the SKU 787681, or is the actual rebate item ANY of the variety of Ghirardelli pieces bags that they carry. If it is only a specific item, what is the name of the product?

Thanks,
Only Staples brand products (and possibly Omnitech) have Staples SKUs on the packaging. All have UPC though.

Really? I haven't used one of these since it was 12%. It used to print at the bottom "12% Associate Discount." Actually, on second though, I did use the 10%, but the cashier didn't know what she was doing and just modified the price of the item individually (through a price not equal to shelf price modification).

I did not buy these yet because it was 90 degrees here yesterday and I was not going right home after being at Staples. it appeared that they have multiple different varieties -- hazelnut, crisp and some other nuts. The store I went to had a display of them near the register and it said that they were FAR.
Update: I see on the Ghirardelli website that they have a "Duet" version with milk and dark chocolate. Has anyone found this at Staples? I did not recall seeing this yesterday.

Or will it ring up at $3.99 with a $0.40 reduction on the following line?
Thanks OP! No signs up at my store so I wouldn't have known about this w/o your post. I got chocolate, CA Internet Security Suite 2009 shelf price $14.90 w/ $15 upgrader rebate and Family Tree Heritage $9.90 w/ $10 on box rebate. Used $10 off $20 B&M promo card. MMAR ~ $10 less tax. CSR wouldn't apply additional 10% coupon.

I just wanted to mention that I got to Staples last night and bought the chocolate with the 10% off coupon. it rang up at $3.99 with a "10% Program Discount" line on the bottom taking off the 40c. A price other than $3.99 was never displayed on the receipt.
In other words, it still works exactly the way it used to.
Now, if your credit card is tied into your corporate discount, it WILL show up on the receipt next to the item. But that is not what was being discussed here.

It's common sense to us long time rebaters. To newbies though, it's good info. When I first started doing rebates I never made copies. Silly me, I thought if you do the rebate correctly and send it in, they would actually send you the check. I was so naive.
anybody got their rebates yet? going on vacation and this is the only outstanding rebate i'm still waiting on. i know it says 6-8 weeks. just want to see if this is one of those fast ones.

slight threadjack here, but searched and didn't find anything..for the ca internet security 2009, sticker on box says limit 3 per person/household/etc. but the form inside states limit 1 (and is rather confusing, at that). i called and csr verified it was limit 3 for 08-30331; she recommended i submit two forms, one for each offer number that applied (i.e. 08-30331 for $30 w/ new pc, and 08-30332 for $15 upgrade, per the form).
went to carebatecenter.com to presubmit and looked up each promo number (1-4); 08-30332 actually shows up as being the combined $45 rebate as a "competitive product" rebate (rather than the "purchase ca home and office product" on the form, with no indication of purchasing with easytech service or new pc), while 08-30334 and 08-30333 both show $30, one with easytech. has anyone done this and received the proper amount? and, what offer number did you use?
I did the $15 competitive upgrade rebate #08-30332. Its promoted as a $45 rebate but its really a $30 and a $15. It says "variable check" for rebate amount. First pass it was denied for invalid UPC. I emailed them saying it was purchased at Staples, the rebate is for Staples how could it possibly be invalid UPC. 54 min later I received email saying rebate had been approved.
Even further OT... I like doing rebates through Staples. If your rebate submission is valid and the rebate processor denies it, Staples will pay the rebate. CSR's can request it. Happened with the Family Tree rebate. The sign on the shelf clearly says FAR. The purchase price is $9.90. Rebate company denied the rebate because $10 rebate was for more than the purchase price. I went back to the store and I've already received the check from Staples for $10.
so if i'm understanding you correctly, you did include the proof of competitive upgrade (about screen/title page of manual) and receive the full $45, rather than just the $15 upgrade?

Yes, It does require original. I am going to try a copy with resubmission anyway. Could you help out here? TIA

There is no web site to check on our submission; and their 800# is always on voice mail and no one ever calls me back. Has anyone received his/her rebate on this chocolate?
I finally got a call back from Ghirardelli corporate after leaving three VMs. They told me that they were sending out a batch of rebates to be processed and mine was included. They admitted that Brandlosers screwed up this thing and that, as bpvh stated, rebates are now being processed by rebateshq. Looks like everyone who was initially screwed over by this should get their rebate. Do call Ghirardelli if you are still waiting.
