Free Ghirardelli Chocolate @ Staples B&M after $3.99 mail-in-rebate

I already have that phone number and no one picks up the phone or some rude lady name Viginia gets on the phone and chews me out and tells me my rebate is invalid. They do not return messages or reply back to email. I have been doing rebates for over 23 years and I know what I am doing.

Will you be escalating the matter to Ghirardelli Management or do I need to do something further?

It is very apparent that "Brandmovers" is denying the rebates so they can keep the money for themselves.

This has been a very bad experience for me.

Nothing here as well. Going to email Staples and file BBB against Brandmovers.

Update: I got a $5.00 Staples dollars coupon off any purchase from Staples.

Aargh! I sent a complaint to Staplez via the contact link and received a prompt response. Unfortunately, the response was asinine, requesting rebate offer number, tracking ID, etc. Um, DUH! It couldn't be more clear that they are being informed of this third party rebate, not an EZ rebate. Man, it drives me crazy. Customer service in general is too often just plain awful. The slightest amount of cognitive activity on the reader's part on their end is all I ask. Sheesh.

Still awaiting replies from complaints to both Ghirardelli and Brandmovers via their web contact forms.

I called 3 weeks ago (07/08/2009) and was told by Virgina that she is NOT allowed to either check any customer's rebate status or tell us anything. And she told me to wait for 3 more weeks and call back if still does not receive anything. So, I called today, and was only able to get to the automatic voice system, "All the consumer rebate checks for Ghirardelli rebates at Staples are now sent out and should arrive in next 5-8 business day", and "Leave message" ONLY if calling for other problems. I wonder whether this company will just vanish after certain time just like the Truse Laser Mouse we bought July 2008 at CircuitCity.

Well this was quite a surprise. I got a $3.99 rebate check today. After calling and being told my rebate was invalid several weeks ago I sent a complaint email to Ghiradelli. They apologized but said I still wasn't going to get a rebate. I gave up on ever getting my rebate, but here it is! Thanks to those of you who put the pressure on Brandmovers/Ghiradelli.

Finally got my rebate today. I didn't take any action other than to read this post again about a week ago. Glad I didn't have to invest any time into fighting for my rebate. Thanks again OP!

Sent in rebate receipt, and got my rebate check today. Hadn't called them yet.

Friend sent in his around the same time with original receipt, and he got his rebate check a few weeks ago.

Maybe the delay was from them revalidating submissions that came with rebate receipts? Although I never received a denial postcard like some people did...

Got one of the rebates today - waiting for the other one on the 2nd address. Never called, never got any postcards and also used the rebate receipt.

Hey, how come you got a 10 coupon, when I (and others reporting) are getting a $5 coupon? Very uncool for Staplez to have any variations in their appeasement attempts.

I sent in for my rebate in 05/09 and got a card stating I did not send the UPC and I did so this must be a scam. This is about the money I was supposed to receive. I will never buy any product expecting a rebate unless the co. is familiar or I check it first. I do feel angry that so many people have been robbed and no one accepts responsibility. Staples should check out any company that puts candy for sale next to their registers with rebate offers. So now I will not shop at Staples if they are not helping either. I called co. too called Brandmovers as per the rejection card I received and left a message with no response.

It's been longer than "5-8 business days" and I still have not received my rebate. And the jerks at Brandsmart won't respond to any voice messages nor emails.

I don't care if it's a lousy 4 bux, I properly submitted this rebate and I want it! I'm gonna continue to give em grief until I get it.

When did you get it? That's an interesting new wrinkle.

I left a stern message on the voicemail giving them until this Friday to deliver my check. I am preparing (and expecting) to file complaints of fraud (which this is) with the FTC, BBB, and state's AG office.

The number never connected to a live person in my experience. Filing complaints with appropriate agencies is the only thing left to do.

Per the most recent post to the parallel thread on SD, if one calls Ghirardelli at 800.877.9338 and gives your name and address, they will pay the rebate amount. I called and the operator transferred me to the consumer affairs dept. I then got a VM box and left a message. Let's see what happens.

Still planning on filing some complaints against the lousy and fraudulent BrandMovers company for their despicable handling of this mess.
