Don't think they lowered their plans at all. Likely $40 a month minimum for voice, $30 a month for data, especially since the 3GS is supposed to be capable of twice the speed on 3G. |

ziba said:I ordered upgrade from apple website, pre order cost, $199 plus $55 ca tax/...darn! I did not know tax was 25% they are probably basing it of the retail price of 599. ca charges tax on phones before the carrier subsidy. |

What a luck!!! Ordered refurbished white 16 gb Iphone 3G @ $149 and received the phone last friday. I am a new customer to At&t, and I left SERO plan for this BTW. Now they announced 3G S @ $199. ... I will call premier customer support tomorrow since I have 30 days of period to cancel this order. (with %10 restocking fee) Lets see what happens. Zero |

I just talked to a live chat agent who said you have to go to the b&m store to order the phone. The reliability of that information is probably low. |

I signed up for a 2 yr contract last year July when the iPhone 3G just came out. Then the next day I switched my account to a FAN account. Now it says that I am not eligible for an upgrade until January 2010 but I can buy the iPhone 3GS at a discounted price of $399 (8GB). Anyone experience the same or it just me cuz I got the FAN account? $399 is too much an upgrade from 3G to 3GS! =( |

Pulled trigger earlier this afternoon on $79 8GB iphone refurb and Nokia E71x ($149, no data plan) on 550 family plan. Received confirmation email from ATT, but no CC charge yet or bing email. Finger crossed on CB. Would have preferred two iphones, but only wanted one data plan. Will let the wifey have the iphone since she's out and about a lot. I'm in wifi coverage ~95% of my life, so the second $30/mnth just didn't make sense E71x seemed like the best option for wifi web surfing with no data plan required and decent Mac support. Seemed like a lot of tension between ATT and Apple today. Several pretty big disses of ATT in the WWDC keynote (no tethering in US, MMS not ready yet in US, etc) and then almost zero visibility for the iphone 3GS or 3G price changes on ATT website. They were also very slow to get the price changes in place. Pretty interesting. Wonder if this is a hint at how the ATT exclusive contract extension negotiations are going.... Rob |
