So the Nintendo Wii, which sells everywhere for an MSRP of $249, has $50 off an inflated "Original Price" $299, thus making the Wii the same price as everywhere else?
Did the Wii MSRP go up by $50, or is this new Circuit City worse than the old one?

Funny, it lists CDW as a competitor with the Wii for $299, and they really sell it at that price.
Maybe I should buy it at $299 at CDW and sell it on eBay for $249, that makes sense too.
Its more like our affinity to save and full knowledge of suggested retail price. Its one of the many reasons why we hate Tiger Direct with such a fashion. Their misrepresentation of facts (flat out liars). How can you trust someone who do such deceptive advertising. They mistake FWers-who as I noted are mostly informed shoppers- for fools.
Yes, some of us may have FAT wallet but we are here because we know value so treat us with some respect. Even the un-inform here will get corrected by the collective price intelligent of the community.
Also for your info: Tiger Direct used to do worse things like enroll your credit cards in services that you didn't order. Stuffs that are pretty much at the borderline of legality.

Typical of the average consumers experience with ANY of Tiger Directs various "stores".
My suggestion is to use report post and tell the mods how you feel. Enough people complain about this fraudulent ad and they will probably take notice. I've complained about ads and stuff and while i will not say whether they took me seriously or not i at least got a reply saying they would take my concerns into consideration.
FW has its issues, but they really are pretty responsive to complaints about things.

Does my warranty still apply with CC online? I have several items that have lifetime warranty with CC before they went belly up.

By my understanding warranties issued by CC were done through 3rd parties and are still active. However you must go through these 3rd parties. The online circuit city aside from name has nothing to do with the CC that went bankrupt.

FW has its issues, but they really are pretty responsive to complaints about things. You realize that the OP is a member of FW staff ... it was in essence if not in fact, a paid commercial.
The only way TD can get customers is to rebrand as other bankrupt companies (CC/CUSA) and hope the users are not smart enough to do a price check

Of course i know op was fw hence my advice to report the topic and bring to their attention that the ad was basically a scam. It might not affect this ad because fw has probably already been paid and approved it, but if they know people think the post was a scam they will think twice before posting similar paid adverts.

Actually, in the game Smarty Pants for Wii, one of the questions is what was the original retail price of the Wii when released in the US, and the answer is $249.
