I used one of these on a laptop not too long ago even though they were excluded. The trick is to say something like "I forgot my customer appreciation coupon, can you still give it to me?" The clerk only needs to hit a register key for the coupon to work, so if they don't have the coupon in front of them to read and they didn't get specific instructions from the manager, you may get lucky like I did.

In addition to distributing these electronically, Staples also prints these on card stock and sends them to their corporate customers. But either type is fine, color or B&W.
