The OD ad for 07/12/2009 has the FAR software sale continuing.
Looking at the rebate expiration dates, most of the software should be FAR through 07/25/2009. A couple of the rebates have expired and the effected items have been placed in the "Expired" category at the end of this post. Other FAR software could be impacted by price changes (expiration of instant savings, etc.).
OD has added at least two new FAR software items for the week starting 07/12 and they are at the top of the unadvertised list below.
There is also an attached pdf file with dates and proof information.

** - NOTE about Office Depot rebates processed by web-rebates on online orders: According to billrubin and cnIsfg, for Office Depot rebates processed by web-rebates, the rebate house is not accepting the invoice that comes with online orders as acceptable proof of the sales receipt. Instead, the rebate house wants the email order confirmation as the proof of the sales receipt. Until this gets sorted out, it might be beneficial to submit copies of both the invoice/receipt and the email order confirmation.
Unfortunately, OD doesn't take $ off coupons on software. But you can use free item with purchase coupons. Is there anything good available? I got a 2gb MP3/MP4 player a few weeks ago.

When the rebate form indicates a required purchase from "Office Depot", is a purchase from OfficeDepot.com OK for rebate?

It has been a while I have done any rebate for product purchased from Office Depot. I asked for confirmation just because I noted that some rebates form indicate "Office Depot" and "OfficeDepot.com" in the form (e.g. for Panda Antivirus) while most indicate only "Office Depot". I have noted too that in the online popup AD page for AVG, there is a "For Store only" note but I wasn't sure if it's for product availability or rebate validity. It is in fact available on line AND 2 rebates noted in the online product page. Confusing eh?
Perhaps some senior FWer(s) can confirm if rebate forms for purchase from store typically has a "rebate for store purchase only". St*ples ER uses such language in their forms. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.OD ads are notoriously wrong when it comes to noting whether a rebate applies to OfficeDepot.com purchases.
Generally, OD's own rebates will state either in-store only (or online only for that matter) if such a restriction applies.
Third party rebates generally are the same. "Office Depot" means in-store or online unless specifically restricted.
As for the AVG product, the web-site has it listed as FAR.
Oddly, I seem to recall when the web site listed on item as FAR when the rebate form specifically stated in-store only.

LL412 said: anyone able to get the free movie ticket code to work? it says 'out of stock' for me n/m, i went for the rolling cooler the tote was out of stock tooOD has regional distribution centers so what is out-of-stock for some is in-stock for others.
When I try the Fandango code "10310827" I get three options:
Fandango Movie Certificate 100795 $25.00 Total Source Solutions Personal Organization Bag 287275 In Stock $23.00 Fandango Certificate 350245 In Stock $26.00
I can add either of the latter two to my cart.

Thanks .. I just ordered $100+ to get rolling Cooler. It looks cool!
One thing about OD is at least you will get your rebate. Frys however is a crap shoot with the emphasis on the crap....... Zero for four. They always come back wrong UPC even though you order the clearly stated product from their site. Once even made my purchase in store. They do it on purpose i found my states AG complaint office has quite a file on Frys about this.
Wow, I was curious as to what Summit Softs Logo Design Studio was and did a Google search for more info. Clicked on what I thought was the home page for summit soft and got the following message: "Reported Attack Site This web site at www.summitsoftcorp.com has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.
Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners." ???????

Don't want to derail this posting. FAR software notification is appreciated. Thanks OP. My post about Summitsoft was more a curiosity thing. Here is what was further stated: "What happened when Google visited this site? Of the 9 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 3 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2009-06-18, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2009-06-17. Malicious software is hosted on 1 domain(s), including rmi.tw/. 1 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including molo.tw/. This site was hosted on 1 network(s) including AS16557 (COLOSOLUTIONS). Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware? Over the past 90 days, summitsoftcorp.com/products/logo-design-studio-pro appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 1 site(s) including onenetworkdirect.net/. Has this site hosted malware? Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 1 domain(s), including onenetworkdirect.net/. How did this happen? In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message."
I don't know if the problem is Panda or rebate house but it took FIVE MONTHS for me to get my first (and last) Panda rebates on software purchased at OD.
ChiefBrody said: Thanks OP. My wife and I have been wanting to learn Spanish.
I was interested in that software too, but the reviews on Amazon are terrible. I think I'm gonna spring for Rosetta Stone.
I wish there was a $ off coupon that would work.
Thanks for the post OP!

FYI, the Better Homes and Gardens software isn't FAR, it's $30-$100 AR. ...Bummer...
I've had trouble with AVG rebates in the past six months. They never receive one rebate, intentional stalling, huge hassle to get it resubmitted. YMMV.
Can I buy the software and use BOTH the RETAIL REBATE AND the UPGRADE REBATE???
It says something about the Upgrade Rebate needing to apply to a product that is 30 days old. So if I fill them both out at the same time don't they reject the Upgrade Rebate???
pls don't kill me if I'm missing something. Hoping to find out soon; OfficeDepot opens in a few minutes.

Upgrade rebates generally require you to have either a prior version of the manufacturer's or a competitor's product.
When a rebate above has a 30 day requirement, the rebate has to be mailed-in within 30 days of purchase. The 30 day requirement does not refer to the purchase date of the upgraded from software.

The wording in the PDF file for Mcaffee is:
"30 days proof of previous ownership*"
Does that mean you have to prove you owned the original version for a min of 30 days? Maybe not, maybe it means you have to get the rebate in within 30 days, but the last thing I want to do is be denied Cash Back on software that I would not have otherwise wanted to spend that kind of money on.
So lets get this straight. For example I buy 1 McAffey(sp) software and simply send in both retail and upgrade rebate forms? or do I have to be tricky and buy 1 McAffey(sp) and 1 Norton, and send the norton CD to McAffey to get the upgrade rebate, and the Mcaffey CD to Norton (criss cross) ??
someone please answer me, I'd like to act fast, and also I'd think there are others reading the thread that an answer would clear up things.

In the pdf provided by me, the op, the "30 days" is under the column "Submit" while the "proof of previous ownership" is under the "Proofs and/or Restrictions" column
Edit: I added some vertical bars to the table in the pdf file in the OP.
So now that the table is better defined, it should be clear there is no 30 day requirement for the proof of previous ownership.
For those without existing proof of previous ownership, criss-crossing the proofs would work.
icecow said: The wording in the PDF file for Mcaffee is:
"30 days proof of previous ownership*"When in doubt use common sense. How could they require you to own the previous software for 30 days when the rebate does not ask you to send a receipt from the previous version?
And the only place I find "30 days" in the rebate form PDF file is "Rebate submission must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase date printed on the customer receipt.". I don't know what you're talking about.
Oh, I see you were confused by the PDF file that the OP created and uploaded. I don't really understand why you wouldn't just look at the rebate form if you had questions. That is where the official details are.
Can I assume you've never done a rebate before? And if you have, do you have a bad track record with rebates being rejected because you don't understand the wording on the forms?
