What do people think? Will it be honored? The linked rebate form is on Young America because they handle rebates for OD and that is where all of their forms are hosted. McAfee rebates are notorious for showing up late for pre-submission on their rebate site. I think your question about whether they will be honored is ridiculous and you should have kept it to yourself rather than getting people concerned about whether the rebates are valid. The same applies for Symantec rebates on their presubmission site. As as general rule their rebates appear for presubmission ~ 5 to 10 days after the advertised retailer offer ends. |

1. goto www.officedepot.com 2. scroll to the bottom, and click on "Mail-in Savings" under "Specials" 3. enter the OD product number for the Mcafee product (876845 or 866005) in the "Product SKU" of the "Find a Mail-In Savings Form" search feature. 4. click on the appropriate rebate 5. watch the rebate appear
For whatever reason, the OD website does a poor job of pickup all the rebates that available through the OD rebate site. Hey, I tried that earlier, except that I also had the Manufacturer dropdown selected in addition to entering the SKU. With both pieces of information, the website did not return anything. When given just the SKU, sure enough, the rebates links show up. Good deal. Thanks. |

Did you check the Order Status on their website to see if it shipped, and whether it shipped separately (maybe from a little further away)??? I assume you did put it in your order, right? Mine came as part of a separate order because it came from a different warehouse. Their website told me this when I placed the order. If it's on the packing slip AND it's not in the box, call and make them reship it. |

There seems to be one at intuitrebates 09-88121 Great find! BTW it looks like most of these same OD FAR software offers are in next week's OD ad. |

There seems to be one at intuitrebates 09-88121Interesting. Just to clarify, intuitrebates.com has both of these rebates listed in its QuickBooks search. |

There seems to be one at intuitrebates 09-88121Do these not both require the original UPC? I had noticed that many of the rebate forms were for 2 weeks. I will be in Delaware next week (no sales tax) so maybe I will look for the OD there and get some more stuff. |

bpvh said:Updated OP rebate pdf file and added CA Internet Security Suite Plus 2009 5-user and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 as FAR items -- not in advertisement.
Also, in the weird and wacky, searching "Norton" in OD's rebate search engine under "Manufacturer" brings up the following two rebates:
2nd from the top: $20 Norton AntiVirus 2009 Competitive Upgrade 06/28/2009-07/04/2009 (08-35687)
2nd from the bottom: $20 Norton AntiVirus 2009 1 User Upgrade Mail In Savings 12/14/2008-12/31/2009 (08-35687)
Notice that the rebate numbers are the same.
If, on the other hand, an SKU [977890] search is done, only the second of the two upgrade rebates above is brought up.
Also, 08-35687 has been a "participating retailers" rebate not an OD specific rebate since its debut back in September 2008.
The symantecrebates.com site has this rebate listed as a participating retailers rebate with a 12/31/2009 end date. There have been several retailers of late posting Symantec manufacturer rebate offers with their own modified dates from the original manufacturer rebate offer (ie Frys, Newegg, and CompUSA to name a few) However, it makes no difference how many variations of a rebate offer a retailer posts you still always go by the rebate offer number and the current terms stated by the manufacturer (not the retailer) for that offer to determine if you are eligible. Another interesting quirk I have seen specific to Intuit rebates is that lately they will post several duplicate variations of an retailer specific Intuit promotion each with different offer numbers on their own Intuirebates.com site and then the duplicates will disappear from their site a few days later. If you inquire about those now missing duplicate offers they claim they never existed. Just in the past month alone I have seen this behavior with QB Simple Start 2009 offers from both Staples and Office Depot (the one posted above by JamesTKirk) and with the unadvertised $300 QB Cash Register plus FAR deal at OfficeDepot.com last week when two current $300 Intuit rebate offers (offer # 09-87801 & 09-87849) were showing on the intuitrebates.com site. Now 09-87849 has disappeared and only 09-87801 is showing up. |

If you are unlucky enough to have to submit any Office Depot rebates (the ones that go to web-rebates), note they will not accept the invoice that comes with your order, even though it clearly is a receipt and shows the purchase date, product and amount. They want the email receipt, which may or may not have the order date in the body of the email. Talk about idiots. I had a rebate from a few weeks ago show up as invalid so I had to call and the guy told me that was why it was invalid. He fixed it for me without my having to send in the email. |

This is either a recent change in policy -- in which case I am going to have several rebates originally invalidated as I always send a copy of the invoice included in the shipping box for rebates on online orders -- or an aberration. If you do not mind, which rebate? |

That has been my recent experience as well with OD.com rebates. Plus speciifc to this round of OD FAR deals, apparently OD screwed up and is selling two different versions of the Intuit Credit Card Processing Kit. As per the Intuit rebate center the correct and only UPC they will accept for the $40 MIR Offer# 09-84221 is UPC 028287020870 SKU 406573. The other one is UPC 028287020849 SKU 406570 which the CSR told me was a non-saleable promotional version Intuit provides retailers at no charge to distibute with Qickbooks retailer promotional offers. It is not supposed to be sold as a a seperate product without a QuickBooks purchase. |
