got my g10 for around 1700 including tax after instant rebates in store at Sears about 1.5 months ago. Good deal otherwise if you need a surround system.
I have had a few plasmas over the past 5 years and this g10 panel is the best so far!
Just picked up this TV from OneCall for 1460 shipped, also had a rebate for the price of a Lumix Camera (I believe some places let you get a blu-ray player). Great TV, viewing angles are fantastic. Would be nice to have an extra input though (I output from an HTPC via DVI-HDMI cable, but need to steal one of the component audio inputs for audio). Picture quality is great. Can't say whether the sound system is worth an extra 500 bucks.

this is a sweet deal.... I am going to cancel my Amazon order for the 54 inch g10 and free blue ray for 1800 for this deal, since I am looking for a surround sound too.
sweet deal op!
edit
I am doing more research into this, but this thing has not hdmi inputs? I can't connect anything else to this receiver? my xbox 360? comcast digital receiver?
where do get the info on the electricity usage. According to Consumer Reports the 50 inch version used $49 per year of electricity for the average user.

In the Dec. 08 issue of Consumer Reports, it stated that a 50" Plasma costs about $125/yr to run and 52" LCD about $80. This is with 8 hours/day usage. My guess is that these figures were based on 2008 models. Most 2009 models have made some advances in power savinigs, particularly Plasmas (I believe) so the gap may have closed. Not sure about you folks, but 8 hrs is more than I use.

You have had a few plasmas over the past 5 years?! Did the others not last more than 5 years?

im just a technology geek that wants the newer/est thing. All my panels are still serving duty in other households of family and friends.

L.O.L. they even have it in a 46" & 50" two-pack!
i see $1725 for the Panasonic TC-P54G10 Plasma TV set at OneCall...are u referring to the Panasonic TC-P50G10 Plasma TV at $1398?
Here is an idea they thought of at SD. When you put both in cart, the TV gets adjusted from 1799 and takes off $500 to make it $1299. After you pick them up, get a gift receipt and return the surround sound for the full $700. You just got a 54" G10 for $1299!

now that you mentioned this.....I am getting it from Sears......I paid 1758 with a free blue ray player. I can get a ps3 and this tv for less then what I paid at Amazon!! SWEET
edit.....
damn it .....they aren't in stock....or TV is in stock and surround sound isn't....sigh...don;t know if I should risk it. Think Sears will give the refund for the surround sound only?
