Thanks. Tried everything, it is not working. I used few free fast copying tools, it starts with 8 MB/s but reduced to 1 MB/s gradually within 5 minutes. ShakuniMama said:smartrebate said:Anyone know speed of this HD? It took 6 hours to copy 36 GB ( 1.6 MB/s). Do I have to do something to speed up in HD or in my PC?
Use powered USB Hub and disconnect any other USB device you are not using.

I didn't reserve one but I got one, They didn't ask my name but gave one which was reserved for someone else. I was wondering why they are giving to me. Now it make sense, I went after 8.30 pm. Mrtelevisionguy said:I got the last one in Revere,Ma

Use powered USB Hub and disconnect any other USB device you are not using. IMHO&LE Looks like a Hardware problem. Try it on a different computer. If all else fails, I would run a Memtest and also check CPU usage. Try using another USB port on your computer (if you haven't tried that already). Sometimes Deframenting your computer helps and/or wiping your free space with eraser. Disclaimer: I am NOT a computer expert and not responsible for any unfavorable outcome. My advice is entirely based on my personal experience. |

This is a great drive. I bought one a few months back from a previous deal and now it's even better, so I got another one. |

cougarls88 said:FuriousGeorge11 said:typer2k79 said:called 5 stores in my area (NJ), all out =( Dude, if you're going to call, you call the 1-800 number, not the actual store. Chances are you alerted some sale associates of the deal and they told you they didn't have any to keep you away. It's so simple to see, but people just have to call anyway.
As others have stated, what's to say you drive all the way to the store and the employees still say they don't have any to keep you away (assuming they have to go into the back to look for it)? Because if you drive to the store without calling AT LEAST you HAVE A CHANCE of getting the item. If you call then NOT ONLY do you lose YOUR chance at getting the item but you lose EVERYONE else's chance of getting the item. FW isn't about YOU, it's about everyone. You really think the OP posted the deal just so YOU could score? LOL If you aren't willing to drive to the store for a chance then don't blow it for everyone else. |

I checked that link for availability and found they had it (today) at the store in Eureka, California. For West Coast FWers, that might be a shot. Used Google411 to call them, they're open today. BTW, didn't ask them if they had it, assumed the listing on the web was good enough indication that they might. Just asked if they were open, it being a holiday and all. |

dammit!!! I wish I had the cash to go get one, that's the same price I paid for my 500gb MyBook Office Edition on Black Friday last year, not only would I have 250gb more capacity, but the piano black housing and blue LED would match my workstation and computer setup perfectly. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Picked 1 up last night in Idaho Falls ID. I had to ask 4 times and tell the clerk when I called the 800 stock check they had 2. He argued for a few minuted that they didnt have any and then said let me look in the back. He walked through the back door and within 1 second walked out with 1. errrrr |
