ya, wait until the end of the world and get it for free, mister tmc8080 said:If you haven't gotten a hard drive by now... I'd wait until the end of year holiday clearance sales.. these prices are pretty much "SET" in stone until the big end of year rush and worry if consumers will be as tapped out as last year after $4 gasoline. This year it's high interest rate credit cards that will have the retailers on edge, not necessarily gasoline so expect deep discounts in lots of stuff (and dont' buy until it materializes)! |

Sold out now. Hope this one was a reliable drive. I got one of these the last time they had this clearance. The packaging was a little suspect, but I have had zero problems with the drive. |

Seagate products offered on the Outlet Center page are new, unopened products that are being discounted and replaced by new models. Some products from this Outlet Center Sale may be packaged in retail or plain packaging.

I guess I should have been a bit more specific. When I got mine it definitely had been opened. It was in the original box, but it looked like someone had used a box cutter on it... But thanks for the info! |

I bought a few of the various maxtor/seagate drives on the last sale and they all came in a retail packaging. checked the pn/sn for warranty and all had the same warranty as a new drive. |

I wouldn't be overly concerned that these drives are somehow bad, they are all under full warranty so you will get a replacement if they do fail. ALL hard drives will fail at some point. So with the price of HD being so low there is absolutely no reason to trust your data to a single drive of any brand regardless of how many glowing reviews you may have read. |

if for the 750...an older 250 just died on me. Reviews are hit and miss, so hopefully I hit for a good one! |

is it an accurate statement that maxtors come with 1 year warrantys but seagates come with 3 year warrantys? the couple that i have checked out look that way. |

Maxtor OT3 750GB - $59.99
was going for Maxtor OT3 300GB which is far more enough for my backup, but that asks for shipping (8 bux!)... so... I got two of these myself. I can create a mirrored backup of 750gb for $120 which is a better value than Maxtor Shared Storage 2TB for $180. |

This network drive is a good deal. Surprised they are not sold out yet. I was going to buy it but read some of the reviews on Amazon and decided not to. |

I just ordered one MSSII. Actually, I have one already at home and it works very well. I use it as the center of my home network. When on travel, I use the SSH for secure connection to get files and using Window Remote Desktop Connection to access my home computers. $59 is a great price ($8.99 shipping is not though ). |
