You registered just to beg (in the wrong place)?

So I started trying this out for the first time, and am pretty impressed so far. One thing I have noticed is that the speed will go very high for a second, and then instantly go down to 0 for a few seconds. From the sound of it, this isn't normal. Any tips?

I get 100,000+ NG but of course most are empty.

Note that you get max speed at 4 connections. So no need to do 20 connections.

Most newservers cap your limit per connection, that's why you use 4 or so.

I think the first rule of usenet was probably not to talk about accessing unintentionally open servers. Somehow, it got twisted around into not talking about them at all which is silly.

Only about 250 kB with a peak of 350 kB vs 800 kB normally.

I normally use 3 connections (max allowed). I first tried 5 here, now with 10, I'm max out!

Can we get this thread deleted for all the right reasons

Before there was To R Rent (not to be confused with toys r us)
there was Usenet.

I forgot the guys name that had his own newsgroup back in the day
when Wired first went to print. They were all over his nuts like
it was the one way ticket to heaven, and they wanted a ride there.

Man those were the good ole days.
