It's not DSL as in your internet provider like cable or fios.
DSL is just the name of one of their plans.

It's a Usenet (aka Newsgroup) account, Usenet has been around since before websites were on the internet.
Think of it like torrents but you don't have to upload, and your downloads go as fast as your connection can handle.

I'm on Astraweb's $11 a month plan now and am considering switching to this.
I have 30mb fiber here and Astraweb can max out the connection 99% of the time.

Fyi, for those who are interested in Giganews vs. AstraWeb: I'm seeing 20mb vs 15mb on average speed, but those will probably fluctuate. Considering how I had the Giganews Diamond Unlimited SSL for $30/month versus $8/month for AstraWeb, the latter is a much better deal. Thanks again OP.
