UPDATE: The deal is dead. The price is showing $799 + tax now.

Hi
This is my first post. So pls be gentle on me if I made any mistake.

I noticed that Dell is offerring the Sony KDL40S5100 1080P TV for $649 + Tax (Free Shipping) LinkELL

IMO this is the best deal around for this class of Sony TV.

This is great.... Been waiting for a long time and said if I could find a nice Sony for under 700 i would pull the trigger. I think I will have to. Any reasons I shouldnt?

I wish I didn't pull the trigger on my Samsung a month ago, I would have saved 200$ for a TV just as great.

Got this last month when they had it for $699. Picture is great, sound is the only thing that is slightly weak, no problem if you use surround system, but I only use that for movies.

Prices are in a total free fall or maybe high sales tax. Chicago tax is frickin 10.25% which raises my price to over $700

manning face kills the deal.

alert mods

how did you PM Sears? I thought they don't do that if the competitor doesn't have a retail store.

alert mods

You wouldn't be charged Chicago tax with Dell. Dell charges Illinois tax... that about 6%.

alert mods

got one , hope it will home

Use :
1.FatWallet Cash Back for 1%.
2.CHASE Rewards for 4% or DPA for 3% off.

fatwallet and chase rewards are both based on referral links

If an entity has a nexus (location) in the state, they are required to collect tax. However, it is not just the state tax. They need to collect sales tax at the location the transaction occurred. That means where the item is delivered to. If the TV is delivered to Chicago, you get whacked with the 10.25%.

Pretty basic law stuff.
