Thanks - just bought one! I use a Palm Treo with a Sprint SERO plan that I'm not dropping anytime soon so this should make it a lot easier to email when I'm away from my PC.

just grabbed one too - hope it works with my Windows Mobile Phone (BlackJack II)

will be very helpful for composing email when at an airport / coffee shop etc

The 6.65 ounces shouldn't make my bag feel any heavier either

How does this timing happen? I just bought one of those back on 6/29 from an A mazon affiliate. I have no complaints though. It was $20 incl. shipping. Arrived yesterday. I was just about to install the software for it this morning. Annoying heat sealed plastic container from the manufacturer. It came with the '6' key stuck down, but I was able to pry the key cap up and saw the rubber plunger was just stuck down. Easy fix.

Not quite as nice as my old Targus Stowaway keyboard, but still much better than the pop out cell phone keyboards. The Targus is an amazing design. Folds in four segments and has the size of a standard notebook keyboard. Will only work with plug-in connections for a Compaq iPAQ though. Folded size is 5" X 3.5" X 7/8" vs 5.5" X 4" X 3/4" for the Palm.

I usually like to buy older generation electronics, so I'm waiting to see if I can get a good deal on a HTC Touch Diamond when their version 2 comes out. Don't need the $100 keyboard on the Touch Pro if I have this keyboard. When I started my SERO plan, I believe they paid me $75 for a PPC 6700 (Apache) phone after all the rebates since the Mogul had just come out.

Edit: Just noticed. This one's Bluetooth. The one I got is IR.

I hope this is not some refurb masked as "new", because the price is way off compared to the other retail prices.

this should be a standard BT HID device. so should not only work with phones, but also any computer with bluetooth (think media machine) as well.

good price, in for one

no idea if these are any good but i like the portability and $10 is super cheap for a bluetooth keyboard. grabbed one for me and one for mom. both of our phones have bluetooth, hopefully this will make wordy emails easier when traveling. thanks OP!

May not work just because of BT
Compatible with the following models: Treo 650, Treo 755p, Centro, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 700w, Treo 700wx, Treo 750, Tungsten E2, TX

good stuff, in 4 2

ya it may not work, i'm being optimistic. i'll be trying to make it work with a BB Curve and a HTC Touch Pro. at least one of the reviews on Amazon had it working with a non-palm, non-winmo device, and it has to be mostly-standards complaint to sport a bluetooth logo, or at least that's what i would assume. i guess if it doesn't work the $10 should be recoverable via eBay.

Would love a portable keyboard for the iPhone, maybe a bluetooth one, exactly like you ALREADY MAKE!

Palm and WinMo folks, enjoy while I stumble through the iPhone's horrid on-screen keyboard and long for my old Handspring/Stowaway combo.

Mixed reviews on compatibility with the centro. Buy.com's page does not mention any compatibility, but Amazon's does for the exact same model of keyboard. The main complaint is having to pair the devices each time you use them together. Great price, but it sounds like it might be more hassle that I am willing to put up with for now. Thanks OP.

I had one of these for my Axim a couple years ago. Folds up nicely, but you will be suprised how much you end up NOT using it. At least I was. You need a flat surface to use it on (very awkward using it on your lap), and really forces you to use your pda for something it was not designed for.

Really.. if you find yourself in a situation where you have to use something like this allot, why not just get a netbook?

How about using higher technology? Call the other person instead of laboriously typing each letter of your message!

OP, why don't you admit you stole this from Selma at Slick Deals who posted this at 3:27 am??? Lame when people on here just steal from there and don't give credit.

uhhh ya what is the point of email when you can just call? well, i don't actually want to talk to many of the people that i have to communicate with, like, for work.

You know what you do to yourself when you ASSume?

I got it from here, so you are WRONG. While I am at it I do not care where you got a deal from. If you give me a deal, I promise you I will not berate you if you do not credit SD.
This guy actually took the time to admonish me by PM for not crediting SD, LOTTA nerve.

This is FW not SD. If you saw it earlier why not post for us here?

Thanks OP

As opposed to the lame people who do NOT post deals and just TC, I'll take OP.
I tried to find some deals you posted ...came up with a lot of negatives and or put downs, haven't found a deal though. I am sure you have some, BUT really why slander someone for posting a deal?

I think it's sold out now.

I got my infrared version of this installed. I'm running Windows 6.5 on my HTC Apache (PPC 6700). I couldn't install from the KeyboardSetup.exe file on the disk. Complained that I had to had to "Please install Microsoft Active Sync program." Since I'm running Vista, that's been replaced with Microsoft Sync. I had to go into \Driver\PPC\keyboard.exe. From there it looked like it worked fine, but gave the error: "couldn't support power management". The keyboard looked like it ran OK, but I have to figure out a way to turn the display 180 deg. because of the location of the IR sensor. Of course that particular item won't be a problem with the BT version.
The deal breaker though is that I set a device lock which requires a PIN because I was pocket calling too many times. Now the screen with the keypad to enter the PIN is blank. Only the top header line appears, and tapping the screen only makes the clink sound for an error on input. Looks like this is going to need to be uninstalled. This is my experience with Windows 6.5, so I'm not sure if it works better with the more common 6.1.

I got this to work on my BlackJack II Smartphone running WM6, after a while searching around I ponied up and bought Teksoft's Blue Input software (version 1.2 for smartphones) even though they have 1.5 out which is for Pocket PC's. I wouldn't be happy if I paid full price and then had to buy software but at this price, knowing I could ditch it and get my money back on fleabay, I think it is well worth the convenience of emailing and IM'g at airports.

Enough with the "credit" garbage. The first one to bring it to this forum deserves "credit." Selma didn't "create" the deal, she just reported it, and that's exactly what this FW OP did.

ENOUGH already!!

Has anyone been successful in connecting this keyboard to windows XP? Or Centro? Can't seem to do it for either devices.
