Just jumped on this deal a bit earlier today. Looking forward to receiving it. Looks like you can get an extra 2% off for opening a Dell Business credit account (similar to DPA but for the business site), but I opted to use a CC instead.

I"m not sure if this was sarcasm. But assuming it is not, it is a rather silly comment.
Yep, wait another 5 years, may be you can get a 30" for the same price or less with better specs!!!
Already ordered one. It "shipped" already. Guess I missed out on the FW Cash Back. Also, had to pay tax and $16 panel fee. Harumph.
BTW, since this is a DisplayPort display you might think it'd be easy to connect it to the new Macs with DisplayPort. Not really, the cables to connect it (mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort) are hard to come by. Apple doesn't sell them. Dell doesn't sell them. Monoprice doesn't sell them. DisplayPort seems like it is flopping pretty badly.

Is this a camera, a monitor, a computer? PUT WHAT IT IS IN THE TITLE.
Thanks OP. I know what Dell is, and I kind of know what a 2408WFP is, and I think $389 is a good deal. So I want to thank you for providing a link to the item. I found it quite easy to click on it, see the item, and make the purchase. Regards.
Has anyone ever had any issues with bright pixels on this model? BTW, this monitor is huge compared to my 19" NEC.

wrong, there were multiple people in this thread who did NOT know what a 2408WFP was... this is about forum protocol and common courtesy.
1)NO ONE KNOWS EVERY BIT OF OBSCURE NOMENCLATURE FOR EVERY PRODUCT ON THE MARKET 2)THE SEARCH FUNCTION ON THIS PAGE ONLY ACCESSES THE TITLE BAR
great post o.p., but next time please make the subject of your post easier to find.
Or you can post a similar deal ahead of OP and title it however you want. If all else fail, you can repost and alert Mod to link back to this post. Problem solved.

Did you put your first and last name as the company name, as per the instructions?
Im sitting here staring at an el cheapo $189 Asus 23" TN that I've grown to hate. The image quality on the TN panels really suck IMHO.
I desperately want a quality monitor, and $389 is a great deal for this model. I just don't know... if I could sell this Asus I'd jump all over this Dell.

No, I just clicked the button "use this address" next to the same address I had my last monitor (2405FPW) shipped to.

Does the or the 30" version have LED back lighting? The short term performance of CCFL and LED are similar, but LED keep their whites longer. If I am going to plunk down $1k for a 30" monitor I'd like it to be LED. Thanks...
Heck I just realized this is the monitor I have! I bought mine at a yard sale. The ladie said "it came with my new computer and I don't want it!" I said "why not, it looks nice?" she said "its too big" and I said well I like big...I'll take it. She didn't have the cables for it (only the VGA which I I ripped off right away) nor did she have any books or anything else with it. So she gave me....lets just say one heck of a deal on it! (she had no idea what it was worth) Got it home, bought a DVI cable and WOW this thing rocks! It does have two stuck red pixels on it...but I'm not going to worry about it. Not for how much I paid for it, and I doubt Dell will replace it considering I don't have any proof of purchase or anything. So I'm just going to keep it and let it go.
Love the picture, inputs, features, and the height adjustable/rotatable stand!
Goes great with my new MacBook Pro!
If you have the money...defiantly buy this monitor. You won't regret it!
