Dual monitor setup will have much more space: 2 x 1600 > 1 x 1920

Edit: Answer: Nope, not LED.

The white LEDs used to backlight LCD displays use phosphors to make white light just like a fluorescent lamp. I'd be shocked if they had wildly different aging characteristics.
